Okay so I rescued a kitten from a not so great situation. Lets just leave it at that. He is super sweet, not feral, probably someone's cat had a litter and he was dumped somewhere. So he seems pretty healthy, no emotional problems. Only thing is my older cat is not too fond of him, almost scared, she actually hides from him. I was told cat introductions can me difficult more so than with dogs. He would like to play with her but she isn't having it. No one is aggressive towards the other it is basically just one sided animosity from my older cat, some growling and hissing. Now the kitten is still in tact, unaltered whatever you want to call it. I have him scheduled to be fixed next week, so I am hoping that may have my other cat see him as less of a threat. I really didn't plan on another cat, he was just in a really bad situation and I just couldn't leave him. I am hoping after he gets fixed and my older cat has time to adjust things may settle out but I would like to know what advice anyone may have. and just to clarify I have no idea as to his actual age but I believe him to be an adolescent, not a tiny newborn but not a full grown adult either.

Thanks,

Hi

How did you introduce them?  This is how it's recommended that you introduce cats http://www.thecatsite.com/a/introducing-cats-to-cats

If you didn't follow the steps in the article, I'd start over entirely, following those steps.  This will probably help your resident cat see the new resident as less of a threat.

Good luck and thank you for rescuing the kitten!
