We noticed our cat has a scratch behind her eyes and in between her ears on each side of her head. There seems to be a possible amount of hair loss around the scratched areas, particularly on her left side where there is white fur and possible less amount of loss on the right side with black fur. It is hard to tell if there is hair loss on the white fur because it is white and short fur anyway but I think it is there.

We have done some research online and there seems to be no ear mites. We feed her dry cat food, kitten food and now we have moved onto adult cat food, along with mixing in a nice canned treat during dinner time. She does not seem to be stressed however we may be able to play with her more. Any ideas or possible things we may try? We figure we will give it one weeks time to gauge what is happening before committing to a vet visit. Is there anything we can try during the mean time?

We are concerned about our cat!

Thank you for your time and thought during this!!!!

Looks like she's been scratching her ears.  I had a cat who did this due to airborne allergies.  It could also be a food allergy since you've switched foods.  I would start with a trip to the vet to rule out anything like fleas or an ear infection.  Then, work on eliminating things from her diet to see what's causing it.  You may want to cut back on the dry and introduce a high quality, grain-free wet food and see if that helps the problem.

To me it looks like wounds. Has she been outside and another cat got her, or do you have another cat? Watch her carefully for signs of scratching, a possible indication of ear mites or fleas. Hair loss could indicate ring worm but then there would be a circle of red, more like a rash, and the pictures don't look like it. As long as she doesn't get more and is not scratching, I would treat them as wounds and see if they start to clear up. The vet could give you an antibiotic over the phone, or at least recommend one for you to use. If she develops more, definitely see a vet, it could be bacterial or fungal. Good luck and keep us posted!
