Wow, this is kinda awesome. I've been looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner (*stares hard at Jed's litter-tracking habits*), but been hesitant since it's a significant purchase. Keep the reviews coming in peoples!

I like it!  My current boy doesn't shed but previous girls defeated many a cleaning device, and coping with tracking is a must!  I will be looking at those reviews as they are posted!

Jed used to not shed. Not that I could see. Now he started. No idea why. Not a lot, just a lint roller every day is good enough.

There you go MServant... give it time.. and your Springtime is coming...

I can't review my vac as it's about 5 years old and has been well and truly superceded.  That's one thing about the good ones - they last!

What's the brand? 5 years sound like a great vacuum. Maybe I can vacuum Jed every day.

It's a miele S5980.  It cost a bomb, though..

One of my previous girls decided to try being vacuumed one day: she walked right under the vacuum hose when I was cleaning out a corner and didn't have the usual carpet foot on it: her tail was straight up and despite my trying to get the hose out of her way her tail went right up the hose and rattled like a drum!  Oh boy did she run! The next time I had the vacuum out she came straight at it and stared it out!  She wasn't scared of much.

What a lovely bunch you are, wishing me a cat that molts!  I like my boy just the way he is thank you.  He shed a bit last summer when we had a few weeks of warmer weather but generally he keeps his fur to himself.  There is a light dusting of his fur on a chair if he uses the same spot for a couple of weeks and I don't brush or hoover it off.

I have a dyson barrel. I don't know the model number? I think it's awesome though. I love it. Dyson have one for pet hair and that's what I'll get next.
And for the record I have two Russians and they shed. At the moment they are leaving fur on the furniture. They are black and they have a less dense undercoat than the blues.
What we need is for someone to invent a cat vac. Just a quiet and gentle vac or a furminator with a vac attached to pick up the hair you brush out.

I'm seeing these two on Amazon -

Let me know if it's one of them and I'll be glad to add it!

mani mani Our Miele S2511 (Air Clean Plus) is over 14 years old and still going strong. :lol3: One of these days I probably won't be able to find bags for it. I did replace the floor nozzle in 2010, as the brush was pretty worn.

It's not one of those Anne. I've taken a picture of mine. It's a few years old so they probably don't make this exact same model anymore. We call this type of vacuum cleaner a 'barrel' and we call the ones that stand up 'uprights'.

What a great idea to add vacuums to the review section! I would like to write one for the Bissell 3-in-1 Stick-style vacuum, but it is not on the list. I have a full sized vacuum I break out every few days, but I use the Bissell every single day, sometimes more than once, around the litter boxes and the food bowls. It is perfect for the job and I would be lost without it. Plus, it was very affordable. I have been using the heck out of it for a year and it is still going strong. Is it possible to get it added to the list?

I would just send Anne a private message and tell her about this one.   I am sure she would put it up.
