Donna - Your Daughter's Name

Hi Donna - I read in another thread that your daughter's name is Amy Elizabeth. My daughter's name is Amy Elizabeth too. Your daughter is the only other person I've come across so far with that beautiful name.

There's a story behind it. When my sister-in-law was pregnant, my Mom always teased her about naming the baby Amy Joan (Joan being my mother's name). Amy was my mother's favorite name. She used to sing "Once In Love With Amy" all the time. Well, it turned out that my sister-in-law had a boy (now 31, drop-dead gorgeous and getting married next Saturday). Anyway, when I got pregnant (my Mom had died 3 years earlier from cancer) I swore if it was a girl, her name would be Amy. Sure enough my daughter was born on March 24, 1976. I wasn't crazy about Amy Joan, but loved the sound of Amy Elizabeth. That's how she got her name. I still love the name too.

Any story to naming your daughter?? How old is she? Mine is now 25.

Unfortunately, I have nothing so neat about Amy's name. My husband is in charge of naming our children (we have two) and I have veto power. He came up with Amy Elizabeth (after some very weird concoctions), and I loved it.

Amy's going to be 5 in September, so there's about a 20 year age gap there!
