Would you add Taurine to this food?

I would probably contact the manufacturer for the taurine percentage, but it wouldn't hurt to add a little extra taurine if you're going to feed the dog version. It's almost impossible to overdose on taurine. :)

Ok, thanks Volleyball :)

There is no Taurine in any of their dog food.  So I guess I could crack open pills, and drop some in? Or, maybe a health food store sells bulk powder - time to hunt around :)

The reason I'm taking a keen interest on Wild Calling, is the size of cans, novel proteins and price.   They're certainly less than NV - Instinct.

There's no 13.oz. cat can, and aside from the lack of Taurine in the dog version - if you do a side-by-side comparison of cat / dog cans, their ingredient list is darn near identical.

I only looked at at one random one, the Shepherd's Choice, and it did have taurine listed as the last ingredient. You can get taurine bulk powder. I use the NOW brand.

Wild Calling does look like a good food. I have never fed it, so I have no experience to share. I think the only issue some people had with it is that it is manufactured by Evanger's which is known for some shady business practices.

Take this information for what its worth.  Here's a fella that digs deeper into Wild Calling dog foods

http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/wild-calling-dog-food-canned/

An interesting observation:

The end result - according to him, is that their canned dog foods have: Average Proteins levels, Higher than average  Fat levels, Below average carbohydrates. I don't think their cat formulas are all that different.  Duck appears to be an exception - meaning, a good GA profile.
