Sage my bobtail is showing the beginning signs of labor and aside from not leaving my side she has some greenish discharge and is constantly licking herself as well as restless and her enlarged redish teats she seems normal. When should labor actually begin?

Sorry I haven't updated been busy:) Sage and just fine and so are her little ones:) Rosemary is the longtailed polydactyl blue torbie and C.A.T is the cream tabby Bobtailed male. They pretty much had homes the day they were born, since Rosemary will be staying with happy momma Sage i named her while C.A.T will be going to a nice family who gave him his name. They're were two more kittens in the litter but when they were still a week old we lost two to FKS(fading kitten syndrome).

Awww she's a natural mum too! Felix is getting big now! In fact he's huge, have a look on my thread! He's got what's called flat chested kitten syndrome but it's a milder for, they said it shouldnt affect him much if at all!

The kittens are adorable! I love the little ginger cream/red one! Adorable! I'm assuming the the blue torque is a female, what is the other? I can easily tell the sexes apart!

Glad things are finally going good for you and sage!

I could tell what they were when they were born, this isn't my first litter of kittens, but thanks:) The cream tabby is a little tom, he's a bobtail I'm probably going to end up keeping him due to the fact that the people who want him have never had a cat before and a bobtail cat is not for first time owners due to the simple fact that a typical bobtail is aggressive and not for everyone. The blue torbie is Rosemary, yes she's a female, she's polydactyl like her mother, i'm definitely keeping her even though she isn't a bobtail.
I'm glad to hear that Felix is doing great:) Rosemary kind of reminds me of him:) He's a very lucky and probably spoiled cat:)

Hi RodentsNCats.

Yes it a normal for Sage to be back in heat already. Nursing kittens does not stop a mother cat coming into heat.

The kittens really do need to weaned by now. Are they eating any soild food at all ?
You are going to have to get tough and start separating Sage from the kittens until they have eaten. When they have eaten you can loose Sage back in and the kittens will not want to feed from her as they will already be full. ;)

Thank you, GemsGem I will do that. I didn't know that, of course we've never had an inside cat to have kittens, so we never gave them a chance to go back into heat. we are getting her , Thyme, and Rosemary fixed as soon as possible but right now our main prority is getting Clara(a cat who my sister abandoned along with Tigger) spayed  as well as get Tigger neutered.

I tried it and they still nurse, she's not producing any milk but they still insist on nursing.

I presume its nice and cozy for them.   :)   If she doesnt mind, its not dangerous, if they dont overdo it.   Main thing, they can eat now on their own.

Is she spayed by now?

It will be soon tim to spay/neuter

them too, and or find them adoption homes, they are 11 weeks by now?

Good luck!

They are all getting spayed/neutered at the same time, it's just we have to Clara our other female cat fixed before so we dont have any more kittens. Sage and the kittens are indoor cats so i have no fears wih Sage getting pregnant again as the only eligilable tom cats are getting neutered as well.

Be careful because males can impregnate a female even after being neutered, due to sneaky sperm hiding in the tubes ;). For at least a week or two, possibly longer. Personally I'd be keeping the males and females separated until all the ladies are spayed, or until a month after the boys were neutered, just to be safe.

Hopefully you can get the outdoor female done very soon---in my experience, outdoor females tend to go into heat in January. Some wait a little longer but you don't want any surprises.

Leave it to my mom to change plans, she said Clara is too far a long to be spayed, and normally I would be like yay kittens , but not now, not after Sage's litter.

so Sage is getting fixed first and the little ones will be going next as well a Clara and our tom cats...hopefully we wont fall keepany of Clara's but knowing my mom, we probably will. Especially considering that we were only keeping one of Sage's little ones but we ended up keeping both of them. But I guess i understand after all who could say no to this face?

So your going to have another litter of kittens so soon...oh dear, you must be mad lol.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the experience of Tigger having babies but it was so stressful. First we had to deal with 2 stillborns. Then an emergency cesarean. Then a milk flow issue. Then a growth issue. Then a diagnosis of flat chested kitten syndrome.

I won't be in a hurry to let anymore cats give birth in my care lol jk

Well, if your Mum is happy to provide a home for all the kittens and they're all going to be fixed ASAP, why not. You're well on your way to being a crazy cat lady. You'll be in good company on this site.

Could you persuade your Mum to get the tomcats fixed now? They'll be able to get the girls pregnant for a few weeks after they've been fixed and with Sage's kittens almost weaned she's likely to go into a heat again soon.

Yeah I am not sure I can cope with another litter of cats, I can barely handle Rosemary and Thyme.

I am glad that she will be getting everyone fixed, i am sad that our line of cats here, been going for 16 years will come to an abrupt end. I think I willprobably go down in history as the crazy cat and mice lady though:) but i wouldnt mind it.

Thanks she's healing up quite well. Won't be long until we can take the kittens to get fixed.
