What's the last absent minded thing you did?

Age 15 I was running up and down the stairs looking for my glasses until my mum told me where they were.
40 odd years ago I was getting off a bus searching desperately for my purse until somebody said it was under my chin!
And I've searched frantically for my phone when I was talking to my sister on it.
I do walk around squinting with my glasses on top of my head.
Senility is fast setting in.

I had a head of lettuce in my hand yesterday and the phone rang. After I was done with the call I couldn't find the lettuce. I found it on the couch. :lol3:

Left to get an oil change today, but put some stuff in my trunk before leaving. As I was driving away, the dinging noise that tells me a door is open went off. The sudden realization that I left the trunk open finally hit me and I pulled over to shut it LOL

I think I do something like this every day.

Last night - talking with Larry on the phone as he is out of town. I started looking for my cell phone -.......... :thud:

and started getting concerned for a few seconds..... It was in my hand and I was talking on it. Yep - really, really true and I am embarrassed to say so. :anon:

I loose my brain sometimes I posted this incident on here not long ago i accendtly used perfect coat dog white shampoo on my own hair lol

about a yr ago i accendtly used hair conditional on my own face took forever to rinse off lol

And sometime i try to put the wrong foot in the wrong shoe lol

I also tried to plug the wrong cords into the wrong item

And one time i was poring milk into a water bottle i went to put the lid back on the milk and ended up putting the bottle lid on there and it feel in the gallon of milk had a water bottle lid in it after that lol

I also turn my words around when im talking like example my answer wasn't questions when i meant to say my question wasnt answered lol

And when i go do something in another room right before i hit the door way i forget why i was going to the room so i start walking back were i started then i remember again i feel so dumb when. Do that lol

Theres more cant remember right now lol.

LOL....Answering the "head of lettuce" when the phone rang would have been funnier...LOL.....shocking but funny.

I do believe "the couch" is the furniture that steals all items, it has nothing to do with us....found remotes, hair elastics, cat toys, phones.....no lettuce yet.....but I will keep an eye out just in case....LOL..

As long as your dog did not notice, I think you are good.

I do the shoe thing too, and then wonder, what the heck is wrong with these shoes....lol

Plugging in wrong cords...always...like they can't make a "standard" plug.

The last one....all the time.....must be some kind of "brain sweep" ....from room to room....lol

Have you ever had to call your OWN cell phone, in your own house? No, it was not the couch's fault this time but was found neatly placed near the car keys, by the back door, neither of which were in their proper places.

I could not tell you how many times I walk into a room to do something and forget what I was going to do. And yes I walk out and remember.

I hope you asked if you could borrow the dogs shampoo?? Lol!

Sadly, today I did something else. At home I tend to wear only an undershirt around the house, because heat is included in our rent, so I tend to crank it up.

Well, I went out shopping today in my undershirt. I even put on boots, tied them, wore my black jeans and belt. But totally forgot about the upper part. I have a jacket, but I usually don't button it. So there I was walking around the store in my undershirt.

Several things lately..

at my PT job at retail, we have a touch-screen computer. I get so used to touching the screen there- that when I get to my FT job, I find myself touching the screen to do my work!

I forgot to screw in and close my gas tank door on my car- drove for about a mile before someone drove next to me and told me it was open. whoops.

I left my milk on the counter over night- and it was hot! Needless to say- no cereal or milk in my coffee that morning.
