I feel for you.  I am also in mourning for my lost Angelina, my namesake, and my dearest Doll-Baby.  So I understand where you are.

However, please consider your fellow posters and readers:  i. e., please go back in to your VERY long post and break it up into paragraphs, with a line of white space in between each paragraph.

That will help other people read your pain, and offer ways to help you deal with it.

Thank you from this very small cat.

Thank you for sharing your sweet story with us. Linda sounds like she was a very special cat, much loved by you and your sister. You're right about people who understand here--everybody on this thread has lost a beloved pet.

I'm sorry about Linda and I'm so glad you got to be with her at the end--I know it must have been a comfort to you both. There's nothing anyone can say to take away the awful sadness you're feeling right now but it does get easier with time.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

PS--don't worry about your post if you don't feel like changing it. Sometimes it's easier to just let the thoughts flow. ;)

Definitely agree, I find it easier to read posts with spaced out paragraphs!  Not a huge deal though, just try to think about it next time!

I feel for you- I'm also 23 and lost my childhood cat today :(  She was 18 and I got her when I was 4, and I decided to have her put down because her quality of life was going downhill.  The pain of losing the pet that you've had for so many years is very real, and I'm sorry that you have to be going through it.

I'm so sorry for your loss!! I understand your pain and your choice to let her pass at home and on her terms. A natural death, as one from old age, is not a painful one.

She knew you loved her and that meant the world to her even if she couldn't express it. R.I.P. sweet baby Linda

I'm really sorry for your loss of Linda. She lived a full life at 18 years and she was loved by you. You might want to contact your local humane society to see if they offer a support group for people who just lost their pets. The Seattle Animal Shelter offers it. We attended one session after we lost our cat Leonard.

I would encourage you to assemble a scrapbook of photos and your remembrances of your dear kitty. We have his ashes in a little wooden box on top of a desk with pictures of him on the wall. We also had a piece of stone engraved with his birth and death dates. It is painful to do this but it does help as you work through your grief and loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Linda was with your for more than half your life, so her absence must be very difficult to deal with. The scrapbook is a good suggestion. Perhaps you can plant something special on her grave, too, to remind you of her, or add a little statue or plaque.

RIP, Linda.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your Linda, but so glad you were with her at the time of her passing and gave her your comfort and love. I would wish for all of our furbabies to die at home on their own terms, it's truly a blessing to die with dignity and surrounded by love. You wrote a beautiful tribute for a wonderful friend and companion, sometimes it's hard to convey what they truly meant to us, but you did a beautiful job. Please remember you gave her a life full of love and devotion, she will live on in your heart and through your memories. She would want you to smile through your tears, rejoice in the love you two shared. Bless you for caring so much, RIP beautiful Linda!
