We never got a collar for our cats after their spay/neuters... we just cut the toe off one of my husbands tube socks and made two holes for hind legs... it worked really well because it made them want to lay down and not move :)

a Day 5 since the surgery and I just noticed that the glue is gone at the beginning of the incision just a little bit and there's a little line really really fine like a hair kind of thick and it looks like it has a little dry blood. Is this normal?

Yeah, I would call the vet. That looks like she has an infection going on.  It concerns me that it looks greenish/pus like. She may need some antibiotics and they might want to clean up the area and see if they need to glue it again.

We adopted Jackie in early January, and had her spayed a couple weeks later. Most other cats I have spayed left their incision alone and healed without any issue (or any cone needed), but Jackie did pick at it a little AND remained really active. The end of her incision (also closed at surface with glue) did open up a bit at the end, and it did get infected (not badly and there was no pus or discharge, but it did get warm and red) so she had to go on antibiotics (1 pill, 2x a day for 7 days).

She hated the hard collars (and would get out of them or hurl herself down stairs to get out of it...don't blame her as they seem uncomfortable and must make sound echo as well!) but we got a soft inflatable collar and while she did not LOVE it, she accepted it (and even liked using it as a neck pillow!). We tried onesies and socks but that was not going to work..so the soft collar it was. Once she was on the antibiotics and in the inflatable collar she healed up very nicely!

But definitely call the vet and make an appointment so they can take a look at that incision site. That does not look right to me (but I am also not a vet!)

Sorry, but it looks normal to me. Is it hot to the touch? I don't see any active drainage, the rest looks like glue and scabbing. It is normal for there to be a hard ridge, and you may even feel a swollen 'lump' underneath from the inside stitches and swelling which will dissolve. Is there a way to E-mail your vet that picture? It would sure save the stress on your baby. As long as she is eating and acting pretty normal I would say she is doing fine. But do call the vet!

Yes, that is bruising from the biopsy last Sept.

Laparoscopic is when they put a camera in one way, and a long snipper/sampler in another.

It's actually less invasive than a full surgery, but bruises like all heck.

How is your girl doing?

I took Maia to the vet today and he said everything seemed fine. he did tell me to leave the cone on over the weekend but what I forgot to ask is: is it going to be okay if she licks her wound when I take the cone off? today is day 10.

By day 10 the wound should be healing well. so she should do no harm if she grooms it a bit. Just keep a watch and stop her if she starts pulling at it or if it gets red. It sounds as if all is normal. We all go through this worry and 9 times out of 10 it is all fine. There can be problems though, I have just has a kitten spayed who pulled all her stitches out, so you do have to monitor.

She is fine now she tried to bite and lick her wound after I took the cone off but now she doesn't do it anymore.

I think I worried too much because it was my first time spaying a cat and she is 21 months. They say that they heel faster when they're kittens so I hope your kitten does fine I am just adjusting to my old sleeping schedule though because on the ten days of recovery i didn't sleep very well I was waking up every hour to check on Maia.
