I live in So Cal with nine cats.

Casper is 18, he was rescued in 1995 when I found him abandoned at a gas station. He is very friendly and talkative.

Shadow, Silver, Tassle, and Marley were all feral kittens I rescued a few years ago. I actually managed to rescue 13, but found homes for the others (three went to my daughter!)

The newest four cats came from a shelter, where they were labeled as "unadoptable". I met them when I first volunteered there and later become an employee for 8 months. They were all very nervous and fearful of strangers. I got to know them since I was there everyday, and I was thrilled when I got a home again and was able to adopt them.

They are so much happier now, in a quiet environment. They are very affectionate. They still hide from strangers, and may always do so, and they still panic at anything unusual, like a loud noise. But mostly they've improved tremendously.

It's a bit more challenging to adopt an adult shelter cat, instead of a kitten. But oh so rewarding!

Sadly, one of these cats, the most fearful one, Alfie, got out a couple weeks ago and has been missing since then. I've done everything I could. I am still hopeful he will find his way home. He is xenophobic, so is likely hiding in a yard. Unfortunately, where I live the properties are all 1-5 acres horse properties and all fenced. So it's hard to know where he might be. I've covered the street in flyers.I go out once or twice a day and walk around calling him quietly. I have not given up! It breaks my heart to think of poor sad scared Alfie out there lost. Please pray for him, or whatever method you use to direct positive energy.

Yes, he is chipped, but it's unlikely anyone could ever catch him, he won't let strangers get near. Thank you for your prayers.
