Good morning and Happy Friday! I'm ready to get out of the office and start the weekend.

Easy question this morning: Do you wear a watch? Why or why not?

Many people no longer wear watches because of cell phones; if they need to know the time, they look at their phones. I still wear my watch, especially when I'm out walking, shopping, etc. I've started a collection of watches and am getting quite the variety of watches now.

What about you?

No, I don't. I used to when I worked. I don't bother when I am just sitting at home since I have clocks.

It's good to know I can quit wearing a watch when I retire!
For some reason I HAVE to know what time it is, I think it 'orients' me to my day. So yes, a watch is a part of me each and every day.

I love watches! I wear them mostly on weekends. When I am at work, it hits my desk as I type and drives me nuts, so I do not wear it at work

I have to know what time it is, but I hate wearing watches.  However, it's a necessity when running and for nursing.

I wear one. I can't check the time on my phone while teaching, and I don't trust the kids not to have messed with the wall clocks in order to get out 5 or 10 minutes early.

I used to and it was useful, but ever since the watch stopped working a couple years ago I haven't worn one since. I'm pretty typical nowadays, I depend on my phone or the surrounding clocks that are comfortably around, like in the home or car and then some.

I would have to constantly take off a watch anyway, when I'm in the studio or performing.

Granted, I would like to wear a watch again. Sometimes it can be a hassle having to dig through your purse to find your phone, especially when in a rush or when weather is a factor (Like cold or rain). And never know if I would be in a position again where phones wouldn't be allowed, like back at my student summer jobs working in museums/historical sites and clocks weren't as available.

I used to.  I was hard on the bands and broke quite a few.  I also used to wear 5 rings.  At this point; even my wedding band is on a chain around my neck.  My hands are in the water all the time so it's just better to not have anything on.  I get annoyed when I have to wear long sleeves even!

I never leave the house without a watch on.  I don't want to bother looking at my phone for the time cuz it's usually in my purse, much easier looking at my wrist.

I have a collection of watches also, one has a change of  5 different color watch bands and I change them to match the clothes I'm wearing or the change of the seasons.  My more expensive watches, I wear when going out in the evening to dinner and such.

Not for a long while.  I use my cell phone; the new one has great battery life so I'm not worried about it dying.

But I have few gorgeous watches; one being a Movado my ex got me and, another a really lovely Swatch my current BF bought me that has flowers on the face (he bought it specifically because of that).

Both need batteries.  My BF even asked me the other day why I wasn't wearing it and it's only because it ran out of power.  I'd wear it otherwise.

I would be lost without a watch. I have a lot of inexpensive watches, most of which need batteries. Right now I have 2 working watches. ]

I used to, but haven't worn one in years, ever sense mine stopped working.  I think it stopped working over 6 or 7 years ago when I was a buyer at a co-op. I would look at it toooo often, & it just made the day go even slower, so I never replaced it. I just look at my clocks, or my phone. I have thought about another one, but haven't seen one I really like enough.

Yes, putting on my watch is just part of my morning routine.  Though to be honest, I'm not sure how much I actually look at it, since at work I have my computer, home I have wall clocks and of course the car has a clock too.

I didn't wear watches for a long time because of my occupation: housecleaning.  No watches, bracelets, rings, or any other thing on my hands or wrists.

Then I worked on a little local theatre show produced by some local lawyers.  They had a band and wanted to show off, so they put a little musical together which ran for 3 weeks.  At the end of the run, they took everyone out for dinner, and gave some lovely gifts.  I got a Citizen Eco-drive (solar) watch

At first, I blurted out, "Oh, but I don't wear watches."  Then I mentally kicked myself for sounding ungrateful and followed up with, "But I guess I'll have a good excuse to start!"

It really is a beautiful piece, never runs down.  I wear it on special date nights or social outings.

I am obsessive about knowing what time it is.  I have a collection of about six watches and take turns wearing them.  Also, I don't own a cell phone (I know, I know, "What?!")  I enjoy my watch that has Roman Numerals on it and the one that shows the phases of the moon.
