Okay, so my 10-11 month old black short haired tabby kitten named B.B., has been sick for 2 days. Is it possible for a cat to get distemper twice? and is it possible to pass human sicknesses (like intestinal flu, cold, flu, ect.) onto felines? I've been sick for the past 3-4 days with the intestinal flu, and last night was when he started throwing up, I've tried Cola Syrup for his nausea and vomiting (as well as some cat anti-nausea pills, they only gave it in a baggy, and it's a dark green/light green capsule pill, so I don't know what it's called), Yogurt to mix Hairball remedy, he's been drinking on his own, he's been throwing up Bile and air, and he just took a doo-doo in the litter box and it was red, like blood the last time he had distemper, we had the medications at the time and I just wonder if it's distemper again or a foreign object or whatever it could be, he meows before he vomits and I'd like to know any home remedies or anything I can do within a budget because we don't have as much money as I should to see a vet, I don't know what to do for my baby, I don't know what I'd do if I lose him like how I lost my other kitten that looks just like him :'(

He really needs to see a vet. It could be an obstruction. It is very unlikely that you passed on a cold or flu to him. I really would not recommend treating him with meds yourself. You don't know what is wrong with him and could do more harm than good.

You really do need to see a vet, especially if he hasn't eaten in two days. He could get very dehydrated and that is very dangerous for cats.

You don't know if it obstruction yet or not.

In the worst case scenario there are places you can apply to for help in emergency vet situations.

Try calling around to local rescues and see if any of them could help with the vet bills.

Don't just give him anything.   Some medicines that are okay for us are toxic to cats.

Did you disinfect your home with bleach after your first bout with distemper?  It is very contagious to other cats and the germs can hang around a long time after.

Until you get to a vet (and I would try to by tomorrow), try to force feed him a little plain meat baby food mixed with a little water to get some liquid in him.

The canned food might be too hard on his stomach right now.  Meat baby food (chicken) or put some plain cooked chicken and a little cooked rice in a blender with some water to make a liquid you can force feed him.

Please get your kitten to a vet as soon as possible or you could lose him! Blood in his faeces along with the vomiting suggests to me there IS a blockage somewhere. I'm no expert though so do everything you can to get him seen to! Good luck x:vibes:

A vet visit is in order! This sounds like it could be serious. Or maybe not. Who knows, the best way to find out is to have him checked by a vet. Try applying for CareCredit, it's like a credit card for pets.

Cola syrup? for a cat?

Flent's Cola Syrup: Prepared with High Fructose Corn Syrup and/or Sucrose, Water, Caramel Color, Phosphoric Acid, Natural Flavors, Caffeine

What is good for a human is not necessarily good for a cat and can often be dangerous. You could be doing more harm than good.

Please take your cat to the vet.
