Hi ,all just a simple thought I leave my meds on my night table .I used to give my Maltese the empty bottles to play with. Then I realized{DUH} that he would take a full bottle to play with if he could reach them .I thought no way he can reach them WELL,then I got a kitty ,My kitty promptly reached my pills and knocked the bottles on the floor ,My Maltese  thought ,OH goodie toys to play with.  Being in the room saved his life AND in the draw they went BOY HAVING 3 CATS BEFORE QUINN EINSTEIN, I forgot how smart kittys are and how much trouble they can get into I love my Ragdoll BUT I call him Quinn A.K.A { Q.E. } JUST SAYIN!!!!!!!

So are you saying they actually got the pill bottle(s) OPEN?  If so, those are some pretty smart cats.  I know I, personally, cannot open child proof caps, so don't use them, but I never thought my cats would be able to open regular pill bottles.  We keep all our pill bottles in our kitchen cabinet though, just in case.  They've never expressed any interest in them, thankfully.

Please keep your medications in a sealed bag or a drawer out cabinet... Cats are very smart and can get into things we could never imagine. If they get a hold of the pills your cat could be dead.

It's not just prescription meds you have to worry about. Had a cat that would go for human vitamin and mineral supplements if they were  accidentally dropped on the bathroom floor -- Vitamin E capsules especially. If you drop any medication or supplement on the floor, be safe and search until you find.

NO first I don't have child proof med bottles {can't open them] BUT the reg. bottles the RX's are in I use to give my Maltese[Boo]  to play with till I realized He was interested in my pill bottles that had meds in .I promptly STOPPED giving him to play with ,but still kept my 1 bottle on my night table because he can't reach that THEN I got Quinn my Einstein kitty and realized that he goes all over and if he knocks that bottle on the floor Boo will run with it coz he's use to playing with them.  So what I'm trying to say is not to do what I did [let the toy breeds play with those empty bottles ]and go through the house and see what the kitty can knock on the floor and give to the dog ....like choklate how do you spell that word etc.
