Hi,

As many of you regulars know I tend to respond to rather than initiate posts. Well today my senior cat Simon, 14.5 years old is undergoing a full thickness intestinal biopsy for possible small cell lymphoma.  And because he has renal insufficiency and some mild cardiac  changes this is a big deal, but we feel that getting an accurate diagnosis (lymphoma or advanced IBD) is important to giving him the best treatment.  Wish us luck!  This is him below.  Thanks, Stephen and the family.

Very lovely picture of your tuxedo among the boxwood, Steven.

Many positive vibes and warm thoughts for Simon (and family) for a successful surgery, positive outcome, and recovery.

Sweet photo of a beautiful kitty. I wish you all luck. We are in a similar boat, but a biopsy isn't an option due to Gus's age and his multitude of health problems. He isn't even a candidate for treatment if he does have cancer.

I hope your dear Simon doesn't have lymphoma - but if he does, the treatments for the small cell kind are very good and most cats can live a normal life.

Wishing you and your family all the best of luck.

Thank you all for the vibes and well wishes!  He is out of surgery, no complications and we hope to have him home tomorrow! Biopsy results in a week or so.  Here is a pic of him on vacation, he's actually an indoor cat but he gets short supervised trips outside.  We're lucky he has great insurance. If oyu want to look at reviews of pet insurance this site is fantastic.  http://petinsurancereview.com/
