Hi, so my wonderful cat Lovey who was born in 1986 has been in wonderful health. Although he is skinny he eats like a pig and he's very sweet. I've noticed he can't see as well as he used to but I've just figured it's old age. Well tonight when I went to give him a can of wet food he looked up at me and his eye seemed very red. Like there is blood in it/ behind it. I don't know how to explain. But his whole left eye looks this way. I assure you he is a very happy cat, he roams freely around the house and eats so much! He even sleeps with me every night. He is very sweet and I would hate for anything to be wrong. Please help!!

Okay that's better :) I was gonna say......!! Wow..

Anyway, can you please describe better? Is it like a severely bloodshot eye in the white area, or is it blood looking in the colored area in front where he sees out of?

Does the eye look distorted at all, bigger, or anything like this?

Is the pupil the same as the other eye is?

Your kitty is considered a geriatric kitty at that age. Lots of health issues can and often do arise. An older cat who is skinny but eats like a pig could indicate diabetes or hyperthyroidism.

Blood in the eye and poor vision could be hypertension.

Please take Lovey to the vet and have a senior blood panel done on her so that they can look for those things.
