HELLO EVERYONE,  I RECENTLY FOUND A KITTEN THOUGHT SHE WAS 8 WEEKS OLD, BUT WHEN I WENT TO VET HE SAID SHE WAS 8 MONTHS!!  I WAS STUNNED TO SAY THE LEAST.  HE CHECKED HER OUT AND SHE HAS LOW IRON, HE GAVE ME A VITAMIN AND SPECIAL FOOD BECAUSE HER BELLY WOULD BLOAT AFTER EATING.  3 WEEKS LATER SHE IS VERY ACTIVE AND NO MORE BELLY BLOATS.  MY OTHER CATS DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK OF HER.    SHE IS NOW 9 MONTHS OLD AND 2LBS

HAS ANY ONE HAD A SIMULAR EXPERIENCE?   ANY ADVICE?   THANKS

Part of it could be malnutrition. l had a similar experience. l found a tiny kitten running through a building site. l stopped the car and finally caught it and took it home. lts head was the size of a walnut and it had HUGE ears covering its head, lol. l thought it was 5 or 6 weeks at the oldest. Took it to the vet and she guessed it (him) to be around 5 1/2 months old since he had his adult teeth. l of course kept him and he grew up to be a small cat. He didn't get the rangey body like other males, he was short-bodied, but chunky as an adult. l assumed he was so small because of his rough start as a small kitten.
