My kitten ate an entire pheasant feather...is he going to be okay?

My dad goes hunting a lot for pheasant and He has a collection of feathers..well my kitten got into it and ended up eating a whole feather while i was in the shower. =_= idk how old the thing was...but should i be nervour or something? Will he be able to digest it? =/

Are you sure he ate it and didn't hide it? You should keep a close eye on the kitten for signs of distress until the feather passes, I am worried the quill part could puncture the intestines.

I found the quill part so hopefully he just ate the feather part. Ill look for signs. Oh man i sure hope he will be okay.

Feed the cat pumpkin or bread.  I know the bread is supposed to form around anything sharp to make it easier to pass thru the digestive tract and pumpkin has the same effect or eases the digestive process( not sure but my mom uses it for the dog when he eats weird stuff).  Keep in mind cats are natural hunters of birds, and I am sure many cats have eaten a few feathers in their lifetime.  Watch for distress and call a vet for advice if need be. I am hoping for the best for you.
