Now Paul and I each have a shelf in the kitchen for our various medications. No fun getting "older". Blood pressure, cholesterorol, thyroid pills --- and I hardly ever took anything more than an aspirin in my life!

Sorry to complain- but I just had to vent. I really shouldn't complain as I know these conditions can be treated.

I hear you.

We cleared out a shelf in one of the kitchen cabinets for meds for us, too. I'm lucky; all I really need to take is Bystolic for blood pressure. But we are walking OTC medicine chests. Calcium pills, Vitamin D 3000, multi-vitamins, Osteo-BiFlex, fish oil, etc. And I take a tablet of turmeric once a day for inflammation. Do they work? I don't know, but I don't feel bad about taking them. High blood pressure is really all that's wrong and I've had that all my life. My doctor says that the walking is keeping cholesterol and diabetes at bay....and I am to keep up with it.

Rick is an epileptic, so that's his health issue. His cholesterol is slightly elevated, not really enough for meds, and his doctor keeps telling him to get on the elliptical or the treadmill as that would pretty much take care of it, he thinks. But Rick hasn't walked at all since I got hit by that car back in.....September, I think it was. He keeps saying he's going to start in again, and I wish he would. Right now, he's getting plenty of exercise with all the snow we have. And his job keeps him walking all day, so that's a good thing, too.
