I remember the first day I saw her very clearly. She was tiny, and scared, all alone in a big cage. I told my dad I wanted to see her, and when I picket her up she held on so tight I still have little scars. I couldn't really get her to let go of me, so we took her home. Upon sitting her down for the first time, she ran circles around the carpet, and out other cat, Graceful, was less than excited to see another cat, and hissed and growled when Fluffy finally slowed down to explore. They had their squabbles throughout most of their lives, but I think they still cared for each other deeply, and they were very much like sisters. I remember one morning when they were both at an open window, and Graceful was teaching fluffy to catch bugs.
I spent many happy years with the two of them, and they make up some of my earliest memories. When Graceful was sick and nearing the end, Fluffy was by her side as often as possible, and grieved her passing with me.
Fluffy used to be very shy. She would rarely spend time with anyone but me and Graceful, and wasn't quick to take to people, but late in her life she began to become more outgoing, and died well-loved and cared for by our family. She passed away early in the morning bundled on top of my bed, where I held her paw and tried to comfort her throughout the night, and heard her meow her last. She was a beautiful little maine coon and I hope that she has finally gone to join her sister.
I love you so much, Fluffy. Rest peacefully.
