Well we got the news back on Dad. Just to recap - my Dad is 84 yrs old and a week ago Sunday we had to take him into the ER as he could not breathe, his heart was racing and his ankles/legs were swollen.
The Dr. said that two of the valves of Dad's heart are not pumping the fluid out of his system like they should. They don't do anything for this, except to prescribe Lasix (sp) a diaretic. He thinks Dad had been eating very salty food and his heart could not handle the extra fluid it caused. Incidently, my sister (who he lives with) was out of town for two weeks prior to the ER visit and I guess he lived on sardine sandwiches and frozen dinners during that time.
All the other tests that they ran on Dad came out good. So he is still kicking. Thank God.
