How far along is Olive?

Hi everyone! My name is Summer and I'm 16. My cats name is Olive. She usually lives outside unless it's very cold, then I bring her inside and she stays in my room with me. About a week ago, I brought her inside and realized that her tummy was getting quite big! I asked my step dad (who knows animals pretty well) about what it could be and he said she could be pregnant! So then I got on this website and searched around and found that she has many of the symptoms and looks like many of the other cats on here before they give birth. So now I am trying to figure out how long until she has her kittens.
Her tummy has gotten very large, and to me, it looks like it has dropped a little bit the past couple of days. she also appears to be pinking and has lost some hair around her nipples. She has also been licking her belly, but has not really tried to lick her private parts. She has also been VERY lazy the past two days. She is either laying on my bed with me or in my floor stretched out. So is there anything else I should be looking for to be able to tell how far along she is?
I have already prepared a box for her with towels, and she has sniffed it out a good bit. So I'm hoping that area will suffice and she will decide to give birth there.
Sorry this was so long, but hopefully someone can help me out and also give me some advice on what I need to be looking for and how I can help her prepare for these kittens!
Thank you! :)

Do you feel the kittens move? They can be felt the last two weeks before delivery - sometimes even three weeks before.   The last days before the delivery she seems to get smaller, and you dont feel the kittens as much.

My guess its near, but you cant never know the exact hour.

Does she gets good food?  Kitten-type, or wet canned food?

Try and read on, and be there - its a fantastic experience, and sometimes you do need to help her...

try and get a kitchen scale measuring in grammes, best an electronic scale.  Measure the kittens every day...

And later on, play on spaying her, so you dont get new litter unless you really want new more litters.

Keep reporting and asking!

Good luck!

Yes, I've been able to feel them move for over a week. She has seemed to get a bit smaller, and her belly seems to have dropped a bit.

She has also become very protective of her belly the past two days. If I try to pet it too much she becomes irritated and wants me to stop. could that mean something??

Some moms to be prefer to be rubbed there in the last days of pregnancy...

She got touchy there, but exactly what it means, I dont know. I suppose its individual.

Hi, I just got home from a trip and Olive looks a bit different. Her belly has dropped a lot and it seems harder than before. Also, I think I can feel one of her babies near her rear. Does this mean anything or am I just overthinking? Still patiently awaiting kittens! :D

Please dont let her out at least not until she has her babies because you will not know where she will have them and they will be exposed to bad weather and other animals that can and will hurt them.

Hope it all works out for you. Send pics.

She is surely nearing now. Very typical, you arent imagining.

Although the exact hour is not possible to say.

Good luck!

Thanks! I don't think she's having them yet, but can someone explain what I should look for when she starts having contractions?

She will not eat as much..her nipples will be very pinkish..more clingy to you..babies will not be moving at this stage since they will be in position already..her stomach will tense up..if you watch her carefully you will notice..her mucus plug will come out..slimy blood streak usually....will go to her nesting place or somewhere its private....she will become tense walking back and forth around the house. Some may throw up all cats are different.

Stuff you need:
Towels, small ones specially in case you have to clean babies up and massage them..suction bulb so you can suction babys mouth when they are born..some dental floss for babys cord..do not let mom eat more than 3 placentas..throw the rest out. A box with some towels in them and a heating pad on bottom to one side of the box, so they can go to where they feel more comfy..keep it on low.. you can put babies there until mom is done and they dont get smoother. .I will be using baby wipes to clean my kittens up it all depends on you.

When all done keep heat pad on low so they can keep warm with mom..help them find nipples..Nature should take its course.

Just watch babies and make sure they are drinking.

I might have forgotten some stuff but im sure others will add some other things.

Good luck!!

Olive has two babies so far! I woke up this morning to the sound of her licking something beside me and I when I turned on my lamp she had a baby under her!! So I guess the nesting box was not to her liking and she just decided to have them on my bed. I considered moving her, but decided not to until I get home from school and see what's going on with her. don't want to disrupt her.

She's doing great though!! Will post pictures later
