Hi all!

I've been a lurker here since November. Our Colin was ill and I found this site while looking up symptoms. Unfortunately we had to put Colin to sleep the day before Christmas. It still hurts.

We adopted Thalia and Ailise from a local shelter in January. They were about 5 months old when I adopted them. Colin was 19 when we lost him and 4 when we adopted him. Oh my, we are not used to little kitty antics in this house! One minute they will be chasing each other around the house and in the next 30 seconds I will find them snoozing in the same bed.

Thalia and Ailise had only been at the shelter for one week before we adopted them. The only information the shelter could provide was the town they were from. It seems like their previous owner did not socialize them very well- I still see the occasional back arched, fur pointed straight up defensive position, and Ailise will still run away from my husband from time to time.

I also have started feeding both on a homemade raw diet, and Ailise has been doing perfectly fine, but Thalia's been having bouts of explosive diarrhea. Should I post a separate thread about this in the Cat Nutrition/Health forums?

Thank you for letting me be a part of this great site- I've learned so much since I found TCS!

Hi and welcome to TCS! So sorry to hear about Colin, but it sounds like he had a great life with you for 15 years.

I would definitely post a new thread about Thalia's diarrhea with details about when it started, exactly what you're feeding, etc.

Hi, welcome to TCS.  I'm so sorry about Colin.  Bless you and yours for adopting from the shelter.
