I hope you wrote a little too quick and way too short.   As her condition in this sentence doesnt sound good.

Normally I would recommend an asap vet visit reading this...  If I didnt knew you are writing about a fully healthy high preg hours s before deliver

*vibes!*

What I meant was that she is just sleeping not alot of energy..she is still drinking and almost not eating...I made an appointment for her at the vet for tomorrow because they are closed today.

The water is little bits...the babies have settled down..last night she had blood mixed with the mucous. ..I was sure it was time last night but not quite...im going to give her so glucose water because she is going to need her energy.

Thank you for your concern Stefan.

Because it will be easier to follow Silver, I have merged the threads I Think Silver is Ready and I Think This is it For Silver into this thread. Please use think thread to follow the progress of her pregnancy and birth.

So doc told me to take Silvers temp everyday at the same time...yesterday she had 103 today 100 but my kittie hates me now...I go through hell to take her temp..she doesnt bite or scratch me but tries to get away from me..now when she sees me she thinks I have thermometer in my hand and hides....is she hating me now..her birth is coming up..what if she doesnt trust me and not want me there? Im taking her back to vet on Monday afternoon and doing ultrasound. I dont want to keep taking her temp.

How did you deal with this?

I'm quite suprised he would suggest a daily temp taking, this is so irritating to a prego cat, well any cat for that matter.
Absolutely unnecessary.

He told me that when her temp goes down it means she is goung into labor. I rather wait than doing that to her. Im taking her Monday for an ultrasound hopefully it will tell me her exact time of gestation.

I refuse to keep doing that to her.

Which is true, however not needed at all, nor an ultrasound. They will come regardless, if you simply keep an eye on her behavior you will notice small changes and will know when it''s time :)

So you think its not necessary to do ultrasound? They sure are expensive though.

Im hoping she will go anytime now...she had blood mixed with a clear sticky gooey discharge and babies are hardley moving and belly is pretty hard. She doesnt eat like before either. She has colostrum already.

Sounds  close.

I believe you got your fall, 103 normally, and now a drop to 100?

Re taking of temp.  My personal advice, if someone feels they need to take temp on high preg, is to do it in the armpit.  Its easier, not so stressing, less invasive...You can simply pretend its a new game you play together.

Is is a little lower temp there, and perhaps not as exact, but good enough to see tendencies, and roughly the correct temp too.

Best to have a reference temp when the cat is normally healthy...

Another alternative is such a one ear thermometer who are coming now.   The same reasoning as above, you should know the normal temp for best use.

Good luck!

I think wait. And I don't agree with taking her temp. The important thing for her is lots of affection and food which I'm sure your doing already. Waiting game is soo trying. Maybe Susie and silver will give birth together xx

As the others have said I wouldn't worry about the taking her temp or even the ultrasound, if she is well in herself and doing as she should re eating, drinking, seeing & pooing then just let her be as from what I've read intervention with delivering kittens often has poor outcomes for the kittens and should oly be done if cat is in labour but not managing to deliver or is unwell, you know her best so can decide whether you need to have more tests done
