My name is Christina and I adopted my sweet little girl Nonna 13 years ago (back when I still lived under my parent's roof, so she spent the majority of her life happily dwelling there). My parents always pretty much ran a 2 pet limit kind of household, so Nonni grew up alongside a jack Russell/border collie named Shoobie whom was her best friend/companion until sadly our family's little boy passed away after 17 years 2 years ago.
My little princess has been through a lot of household changes in the past few years and has recently decided she was happiest with her mommy (me) and daddy who originally adopted her full time in their nice, quiet apartment upstairs free from the stresses of change and where she'd get the most love & care (and boy is that an understatement!!). Naturally, her dada and I are ecstatic because up until recently she had preferred to mostly hang around nana and papa's apartment where she had grown up, visiting us occasionally for extra love and attention, until all the changes had become too much for her.
So, I am now the one and only full-time cat mama since her nana is now very busy raising a grandchild and I feel very honored and blessed because my little girl is the love of me and her daddy's lives. We always wanted her to move up here with us. The times when I wouldn't see her up here for days at a time (she's been very much a loner and indoor/outdoor up until now) I would get so depressed and sulk and think about her endlessly for days. She is my biggest joy in the world, my instant happiness.
Since focusing ALL of my free time now on my little pumpkin and her well-being I have gone from a simple cat lover to an obsessive cat fanatic!! Daddy and I would love more cats, but Nonni is so much older now, very territorial, set in her ways and routines and the slightest changes stress her out. So we're focusing on making our little princesses golden years the happiest and most comfortable they could be. She is lavished in non-stop love and attention and *spoiled* to death. She is very much our daughter and little princess!!
I've been spending so much time on the web lately reading everything in the world about cats so I figured it was time I joined a community.
Anywho, sorry for the very long introduction! Time to meet Nonni: the love of our lives.
She has a bit of expensive taste, considering she's chosen mama's Vera Bradley bag as a bed instead of the cat beds mama has bought for her.
She lost interest in this bed very quickly but she loved to pose in it. Lol
She loves to do weird things like sleep on the bathroom rug for hours and then get annoyed if you turn on the light and go in to use the bathroom.
She tries to brush her own cheeks with daddy's favorite brush.
And out of all the toys mama spoils her with her absolute favorite is a new bird mama got her for Christmas named Sophie.
There's no questioning that she is very spoiled (and quite posh for a kittay) and owns her humans, lol. Got us wrapped around her little paw. I am happy to be here as a new full-time cat mama and to be able to be obsessive about my little girl with like-minded cat lovers.
