My the corner of my 5 month old kitten's eye has split open and is been bleeding. I tried some polysporin but it's still not healed -- any suggestions on what to do or what it could be?

I would not recommend using the Polysporin anywhere the eye, human or pet!!! I even says that on the tube to keep away from eyes. You would be better off picking up some Terramycin eye ointment to have on hand for things such as this.

It is hard to see the split you are referring to but I can see some redness and a bit of swelling. Glad you are taking kitty to the vet!! :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Polysporin do eye drops, btw! I do not think they are useful for cuts tho, more infections like conjunctivitis.

Any news on kitty? I do hope she/he can be helped by the vet, sounds very sore.

Thanks all - bacterial infection in the eye. Eye drops twice a day for a week.
