Hey everyone. I'd like to introduce my newest cat. I found him back in November. He was digging through my trash late one night when my dogs alerted me something was on the porch. He ran from me when I opened the door, but come morning was still around!
I went out and sat down at the top of my stairs and to my surprise he ran up the stairs meowing and crawled up into my lap! He was so malnourished. I got him in and gave him some food and time to warm up. On day two I decided (I don't normally bath my cats) he had to have a bath. He had mud matted so badly in his behind area I honestly couldn't tell if there was something wrong back there or not. I bathed him and so sweetly he just held on to me (not clawing me once) and that's when I realized he was so much skinnier than I thought.
So he had his bath, and I feed him Wellness core (before I knew wet was best) due to it's high protein, a probiotic and he wasn't drinking so I added small amounts of kitten powder replacement milk to his water to get him interested in his water, and it worked.
Now almost three months later and you would never think this guy ever lived outside. He is my "lazy" house cat. Not even interested in going out! I will admit he slipped out once and when I realized it I opened the door and there he was and flew back in!
