I don't even know where to post this, all I know, is I need advice. Sunday night, I heard a cat crying, and I thought it was my Lily crying, so I checked it out. It was a stray/feral. This cat will not leave my porch, and it won't stop crying. It's extremely skiddish, but looks like it wants to be petted, to trust me? Anyway, so its holding my two cats, hostage in the house. Lily & Callie have been inside, for over two days, wanting to go out, but that cat scares them off. They finally were able to get outside for a few minutes today, and this cat was blocking them, from coming up on the porch to come back inside, and hissing and growling at them. I don't know what to do. I spoke to a lady who takes rescues, but she wants me to get it tame before I can take it to adoption events. Yeah thats great that it can get adopted, *eventually*, *possibly*, but its causing havoc to my cats. Let alone I can't afford to feed another cat. I of course don't want this thing to suffer or starve, but it needs to go somewhere. this is Lily & Callie's house, and they are scared to be here with it outside. Does anyone know if i have any other options? Are they any rescues that will just come and get her? I'm sure she could turn into a nice cat, but I just don't have the means to take care of another cat, especially the way its acting towards my two. Thanks for listening to my rant, I am at my whits ends with this thing screaming at me, and now Lily & Callie are acting like they are mad at me.

You could always call animal control and ask for a cage to catch him and let animal control take care of him, or even better...put an ad on craigslist describing him and ask someone if they need a good barn cat to take care of the mice. Just a couple of ideas. Holly

I would suggest trying to trap the cat and taking it to a vet to see if it has been microchipped and is owned by someone.  If it is not and you cannot care for the cat, you might want to take it to a no kill shelter.  They will determine if the cat is adoptable.  If you can find a way to see if the cat is friendly and possibly adoptable that would help the cat out a lot.  Yet it might be someone's pet.  It seems that the cat is probably hungry and smells your cats around.  Hopefully your cats are spayed/neutered as you do not know about this stray.  Most likely the cat is stray as a feral cat would not sit out in view of a human.  It could be a stray cat that has been out on its own for awhile and developed feral like behavior.

You might want to do a search online for lost cats.  You can try Craigs list.  In my area we have a website called Pet FBI for lost pets.

Hopefully you can find an owner.
