Hello, we have two dogs that we have had for quite awhile. They are quite behaved around us and understand the pack order. However I was told I was told that I would have to throw all this away for Cleo our new cat. I couldn't begin to tell you the breed as I am new to cats I rarely even have seen one. However it is a she. Her past family had two kids who weren't responsible and two full time job parents. Apparently she only got fed once or twice an average per week however she is healthy. We think she is 7 hopefully you can teach a old cat new tricks! She is an indoor cat. I guess I should start listing my goals.

1. Seeks affection from all members of the family
2. Doesn't get into stuff she's not supposed to
3. Respects the dogs and their pack order (where will she end up in their pack?)
4. Doesn't hide when guests come
5. That she stays potty trained
6. She understands some sense that I'm dominate or that we are equal
7. She feels safe and comfortable

Right now she is in my sisters room under the bed... She has been for about 2 days and she hasn't interacted with her yet... I haven't seen Cleo and my sister hasn't petted her yet. Apparently she hisses occasionally which brings me to question 1 which I will list at the bottom. Our plan is that once she is interacting with my sister then we will give her roam of the house and maybe she will interact with the rest.

Our dogs have a pack order that works for them and they even have decided which dog is higher up. Where will the cat fill in (4)

How does one bathe a cat? Is their a happy way to do this? (5)

We have two dogs who have lived in our house for 6 years, fortunately they are usually mothers for all of our pets (saved our bunnies life even held it for about 10 mins without drawing blood). Our current integration plan Is kinda stupid. But we really want to do this fast and not gradually.

Questions
1. When a cat hisses should I back off or stare right back. (She is declawed)
2. How often can I give her treats
3. Is catnip safe and healthy for cats
4. Where will the cat fit in in our pack?
5. Bathing cats?

Sorry for this mega forum I hope you guys can help me... I'll probably have more questions later. I'm excited to have a cat in our house... I hope she is affectionate.

It would probably be good to mention that the cat did live with a dog in her past house.
