I'm afraid that's something only a vet can diagnose and help with :(. But try to think of possibilities---does she have fleas? Is she doing well on her food? Has she been in fights? Fleas and allergies I think are the most likely culprits, but if you remedy the issue (get rid of fleas, change her food, whatever is needed) and she still has scabs you're just going to have to get her to a vet.

Yes a vet is needed to diagnose this as it could be many things. I understand your concern for you kitty and I've been there stuck not being able to afford a vet. Do you have an SPCA near you with a vet facility? They usually have discounted rates. I have a kitty that is allergic to flea bites and if I do not monitor her by combing for fleas and treating her she gets scabs, and she will start grooming and grooming and grooming. To immediately try to make her more comfortable, get a flea comb and check her for fleas. If she has them remove them and treat her. I would continue to comb her for fleas until you can get her to the vet if she has them. If she has no fleas then getting her to a vet is really a must. Good luck!

She might be more allergic to fleas than the boy cat. Definitely check for them because fleas are so common.

Not wierd at all, cats are all individual and react differently to things.

There are only 3 things that this can be caused by.

The biggest reason here is fleas. Indoor cats get fleas too, and it doesn't matter that your other cat isn't scratching, many cats are not bothered by fleas so much, but it's very common for a cat who is flea allergic to go bonkers, constantly grooming, etc with just a couple bites.

I have a very flea sensitive cat myself.

What you can do for us to help identify what's going on would be details. You said scabs all over, tell me exactly where and where there are the most scabs located.

Also how long has this been going on for.

Last but not least, what you feed your cats for the past 6 months or so, if you ever change food brands or what.

The only advice I can give requires going to a vet.  We are now going on 3wks trying to determine what caused tiny little scabs to pop up on our youngest boy.  We have tried 2 antihistamines and one round of steroids.  We also switched him to a grain/gluten free wet/dry food.  We do not yet know if the allergen is food borne, airborne, or contact.

Best of luck with your kitty & I hope you can determine the reasons behind it soon!

Do you ever see tiny black specks like pepper after she has been laying around on her bed?

It's very hard to find fleas, but a cat with fleas will leave pepper specks around where she was.

Yes I have other cats that clearly aren't allergic because they have no scabs. The scabs are a common sign they are allergic. It is just like humans I am allergic to mosquito and ant bites and when I get stung it turns into a big welt that I scratch because it itches 10 times more than a regular person like and it scabs over. I don't think a cats allergic to fleas are any different and maybe because their skin is so thick the scabs get bigger and thicker than us humans.

The pic in your last post, did you just take it?

If so, they are/were laying on white, take a look and see if you see any black pepper specks.

This is the most common reason and the easiest to fix.

Treat with advantage 11 every 2-3 weeks for 3 months, then continue treating every month.

If money is a problem, go on ebay and buy the extra large dog size, it's about $40.00 or so, for 4 tubes,  and get a 1.0 ml syringe. DO NOT GUESS.

Dose is 0.4 ml for kittens/small cats, and 0.8 mls for bigger cats, over 8-9 pounds.

The 4 tubes will last you a long time and make it much more affordable for you.

They each have 4.0 mls in them.

Dog and cat formulas are identical. The makers of advantage do not tell the public this because of proper dosing.

The second most common reason is an allergy. Also caused by fleas. If fleas are completely ruled out then take a look at food next.

If you have not changed the food AT ALL in the past 6 months, but this is only the last 2 months that there are scabs, then there is less chance of it being food, and might be environmental, like new litter with fragrance/dust, or the detergent used to wash bedding, etc.

Highly likely it is fleas, flea allergy caused.

There's only the 3 things possible, fleas, allergies, ringworm. It doesn't sound like ringworm.

You said her back, is it the area on her lower back? Above her tail, below her chest?
