It all stems back to the old superstions and wives tales about Black cats. I am a firm believer in the if a balck cat crosses your path you will have bad luck...only because the one and only time I did pay attention to the dang thing I got into a car accident and nearly totaled my Honda CRX. So ever since that day I stay as far away from black cat's as I can....I won't even enter a house of someone who owns a black cat.

Yes Black cats are very beautiful!!!!!! but I don't want to chance anything cause one has crossed my path.....call me silly but hey I am who I am

I wonder how many times you have had a small accident when a tabby crossed your path Willow, or when a a little furry white one tripped you up!
Keep count and I bet it runs into more times than once with a black cat.
I always have a black cat. My first cat was black called Harry Flashman. When he died of Lukemia I was devestated but a few years on i have another black cat (Mischa) who is the image of him and I even got her on the same day as I got Harry. The only difference is Mischa has one white whisker all the others are black. I cant say thet either of them had/have nice attitude-in fact a 'bit' on the nasty side but we're okay.

: I love all these gorgeous shiny black furbabies!

They do remind me of panthers...so sleek and beautiful. We had a black cat when I was little named Cinder - he had the neatest personality - a total sweetheart, but with an attitude too.

I've had black cats cross in front of my car lots of times - I slow down and make sure they cross safely, and go on with my day.

People seem to have the same hangups about black dogs, too
- when I adopted my (almost all black) dog from the shelter, the employees told me they were happy b/c it's really hard to find homes for the black dogs.
I think that black fur is so pretty - it shines like silk.

Beautiful panthers! There were 2 at the Kansas City zoo that they acquired from a pet store owner. The owner had defanged and declawed a male and female panther and couldn't care for them. The zoo took them in because obviously they couldn't be released into the wild.

One night, a raccoon had the personal misfortune to get in their cage. The panthers had been depressed up to that point (still adjusting to their new digs) and after they caught this raccoon, they both started strutting their stuff again. It was like night and day with them.

Yes, I will sit at the cat enclosures at zoos for hours and just watch their behavior. These panthers were wonderful to watch!

I am so glad I had my camera handy to catch this shot! Kind of blurry but so darn cute!
