Hi all, hope someone can help...my cat of 13 years began limping a few days ago and it seems to be her right left leg.  Is there any way I can wrap her little leg so that she can let it heal?  When I gently massage her leg to see if she reacts, she seems to not be bothered.  She is eating and drinking just fine so I'm hoping that it will heal...any advice for wrapping etc?

If your kitty is limping then you definitely need to see your vet.

The vet would be the best thing for her.

It could be arthritis, fracture, sprain, ligament tear, knee cap dislocation, paw injury....etc. So many possibilities that only a vet can tell you for sure. She might need just rest, might need a wrap (though cats are notorious for chewing the wrap off), might need something much more. At the very least, you can get some pain medicine or anti-inflammatory to help with the healing.

My cat was limping. I took her in that day, they gave pain meds and said to wait. I waited a few days, she did not improve. It turned out she had torn three ligaments. She's recovering from major surgery now.

Regardless, Glucosamine/Chondroitan and Fish Oil are great supplements for any kind of joint problem in cats.

Unless you are very experienced  at wrapping I do not recommend it.  Incorrect wrapping can restrict blood flow, and that can result in permanent damage.  If she is only limping slightly I would leave if alone and monitor her.  It's probably only a minor sprain and will heal up on its own.  She sounds as if she is managing quite well so far!  Just keep an eye on her, and if possible try to keep her from being too active, so she won't continue to aggravate her leg.  Good luck! ..
