Right now I am using Tidy Cats clumping litter but I'm finding it very dusty.  I've even heard my cat sneeze a couple times when I cleaned the box.  She usually sits and supervises me. :)

Can anyone recommend a clumping litter free (or as much as possible) of dust?  I know the dust isn't good for me, my kitty or my home.

We use Dr Elsey's Precious Cat in the blue bag. I don't know if there is any clumping litter (of the clay variety, at least), that is totally dust free. That said, I do find this one to be very low on the dust in comparison to others. We did have one bag, out of the many we have purchased, that had a bit more dust than the others but it was obviously a fluke.

When I am doing a complete clean & refill of the boxes, I hold the stick of the vacuum cleaner near where I'm pouring, and pour from up high to purposely release as much dust as possible, so it gets sucked up by the vacuum. It helps if you have a second person to hold it, but it can definitely be done solo if you prop the vacuum up on something so it's steady...you don't want to accidentally suck up the actual litter.

also i want to add, that Nature's Miracle, although not completely dust free, at least i don't have the stranger kitty issue with this.

what i mean by that is, when my black cat goes in, she doesn't come out a different colored cat! haha. I've had that issue with WBCL, Arm and Hammer and Tidy Cats. Every time she goes she comes out grey/light blue (with tidy cats)/brown (with WBCL)

I second Dr Elsey's Precious Cat litter! Little to no dust, clumps very well, cats like it.

I found a litter at The Tractor Supply Store that I think is their store brand, Paws & Claws clumping litter. It has very little dust (about the same as Dr. Elsey's), clumps hard, and about 1000% better odor control than Dr. Elsey's at less than half the cost. It's a sandy texture that the cats love.

Okay, my favorite is still Blue Buffalo Multicat clumping litter made from walnut shells, but the Paws & Claws is cheaper and easier to get (a 1 mile drive compared to a 35 mile drive to the closest store that sells it).

I have been going threw this same problem. I am having so much trouble breathing with the litter. So I just bought litter called Worlds Best Cat Litter. This seems to do the trick. Also I did inquire at an Agway and they told me that they have something.  I didn't try it yet but it seems that it is going to be cheaper. So when I get down that way I will stop and pick some up.

I have had this problem before and I've found Odour Buster to be great. It's 100% organic; dust-free as far as I can tell, except when I'm pouring large amounts from a bag into the bin I keep my clean litter supply in; says it has no chemical additives or synthetics, and most importantly, my finicky kitty seems to like it.

I like Tidt Cta. i tried Fresh Step, as Costco had it on sale. Wow that stuff is dusty. I am looking at trying P&C. Cheaper and rave reviews!

I switched from Fresh Step after I found out Aleister has asthma. It was just way too dusty. Everything within 3 feet of the box was covered in a layer of dust.
I started using Fresh & Light multi-cat unscented. It's amazing as far as the dust goes. There's not really any at all. The clumping/odor control isn't the best I've ever had, but I have no complaints whatsoever. All of my cats have had terrible potty box habits, but this litter works just fine for them and me.
