Hello :) I'm new to thecatsite,

I live with two lovely felines, my big male Kodak Chatterley who was found in someone's backyard one July day and who I took in a few months later once I was told about him. The first day I had him, I petted him too much and he badly bit and scratched my arm.  He set the limits and we took it from there. Of course now, four years later, he trusts me so he'd (probably) never do that again and he's a big softy. He's a bit of a whiny bum as well sometimes but I adore him. He's also very smart and no-nonsense and he often sighs because he's a misunderstood soul. Here's his picture (looking a bit crabby):

I also have a girl cat, Milady Chatouna, a three year old silly girl who acts like a dog and is one of the most beautiful cats I have ever seen, like a supermodel cat. She's always interested in what's going on, loves yogurt and is a general lover of love. She's a very good assistant who gives nice moral support. Here's her picture:

I tried to rescue a cat last summer but he was sick and we ended up having to let him go to cat Heaven. His name was Mélusin and I'm still sad about what happened with him. He was a lovely, lovely affectionate cat. We did the best we could for him and at least he passed away with a full belly and after having been allowed to rest and receive affection.

My fiancé won't let me have another cat now! If I could I'd have like 10, plus a few small dogs and some birds. <3

Welcome to the site! Your cats are beautiful, I've got a soft spot for black cats, even though I've never owned one. (although I've been feeding a black stray that has popped up over the last couple of days) Good luck and have many happy years!

Thank you very much! :D I hope the new fella is doing well despite the cold. He's lucky to have found someone who will feed him!

I know, they all must sense that I have food, I sure get a lot! This AM it was 0 degrees and they were waiting, now a new kitten, it couldn't have been over 4-5 months old. I worry about them because I don't know where they go during the day, but like you said, at least they have food! Up to 5 now, at least until the resident tom cat chases some off, it's so sad. :(

Oooh I hear ya, I often think about the various alley cats when there's a cold snap or during winter in general (I'm in Montréal- cold winters). I hope they find spots near hot air ducts and under porches where they can be protected from the wind... :-/ But I do think that feeding them makes a nice difference, it gives them energy to stay warm.
