Hello Cat lovers!

I joined today and some members have written me where I have posted today.

I would like to know  how many use Friskies canned food for their cats,

and which  ones  your cats like to eat.

How much do your cats each weigh and how much canned food does each one

get to maintain that weight?

I am hoping to get my 22 lb cat down to 16lbs  over a period of 6 months or  more

and do not plan to go too fast..however I    am thinking of giving him 5.5 ounce can

a day and a little more say 3 ounces or 2 ounces per day.

The other two cats are 10 lb and 16 pounds and okay but I have also taken them off dry

Simply nourishing grain free food..no corn in that dry food.

They eat  too much of it, they love that brand..

They are also using the litter box too much doing their number 2 on all dry foods

we have bought..and we tried BLUE, Wilderness, simply nourishing and a few more

from Pet Smart.

The one I have now is made by Pet smart and called Simply nourishing dry food.

Anything you can share that will be elementary and simple for me to comprehend

will be appreciated..

I am not good with charts and figures and a lot of details......

I am more visual..such as my photography ..and sales and  just not

a number person..

Here are my 3 boys.

all neutered ...and  happy and healthy so far.

No diseases and never go to the vet except once a year for their

rabies and upper respiratory shot.

I use Pet guard wafers daily to prevent fleas and ticks and that has worked 100 percent

for 3 years!

Thank you all from Sheri T for Peebo, Leo and Bro

My cats like friskys, read the back and get the ones that have ten percent or more protein, you may want to consult your m vet to develop a weight loss plan.

My 3 cats get the odd can of Friskies in their rotation of canned and raw foods. l only buy them pates, and l try to limit the Friskies to the two flavours l can buy locally that don't contain fish anywhere in the ingredients.

They are 7.5lbs, 9.2lbs, and 9.5lbs, all slim and healthy, all of them eat about the same amount which is roughly 6oz per day.

l strongly second having a feline specialist guide you with the weight loss as 6lbs in 6 months is way too much for a cat to lose. lt can have very serious negative health effects.

Here is a very long but incredibly detailed and informative post by @mschauer   and her foster-kitty Mickey's journey to a healthier weight. From first to last post is roughly 18 months in which time he lost 9 1/2 lbs in a very regular, monitored, and healthy manner.

Hi Andrya - what flavors of Friskies don't have fish in the ingredients, that you have available?  Thanks

l always look for the orange cans
 so l had to check.

One is Country style dinner and the other is Mixed grill.

Both have by-products as the first ingredient so they're not the best, but l do have sardines and other fish flavoured foods in their rota so this is what they get.

The other orange can, Poultry platter has Turkey first and fish 6th so that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of other fish in their rotation.

Oh of course, thanks I remember now.  The 2 you mentioned, in addition to the Poultry Platter are all offered under Grreat Choice at Petsmart - exact same name and no fish.
