Me: Cam, don't go and chew on those roses
Camelot: *Starts chewing*
Me: Cam no no no, you will get sick if you keep doing that
Camelot: *Pauses* *Then proceeds with chewing*
Me: Nah! *Removes Cam from dining room table*
Camelot: *Hops back on dining room table* *Pauses* *Then barfs on dining room table*
Me: .........

Today we had a talk about the squirrels. The squirrels have been getting into the bird feeders, despite the "squirrel proofing" and I was explaining to her that it is her job to sit in the window and keep them away. She wasn't impressed. :dk:

Casper: MOM,MOM, I think it's 70 degrees out now, I need to go out!!!! (it's 32)

Me: Casper it's not any warmer then it was 5 minutes ago when you were last out, so NO!

Casper: MOOOOM!!!! If I don't get to go out I'm going to knock everything off coffee table! (knocks phone, remote, and coaster off of the table)

Me: If you don't knock that off I'm going to give you a time out in the bedroom!

Casper: PLEASE, if I don't get out I'm going to lose my will to live!

Me: Oh Casper, sometimes you are such a big baby, OK I'll let you out.

Casper, two minutes later,: MOM, MOM. I need in, it's FREEZING out here!!!

Jed tries. He really does. He swats at window and pounce on it. But the squirrel didn't even care. It knows Jed is no threat. Blasted thing.

LOL....I love your Casper, he demands what he wants and gets it.....lol.

My Spotty, on the other hand, is confusing me:

Spotty: meows.

me     :what? what do you want?

spotty: meows

me:     Oh, okay....some patting.

spotty: walks away

me    :  oh, okay, show me what you want. Where do you want to go?

spotty:  sits, stares, looks away

me:        I don't know what you want.

spotty  :  goes to lay down beside me on bed.  (probably thinking "I just love MESSING with you.")

me :     Yeah, thanks, because I love to follow you, you change your mind, and end up where I was sitting-                      laying anyway.

spotty:  falls asleep, no longer bothering to listen to me speaking.(the story of my life....lol)

Darn squirrels also know there is a cat inside, and know he cannot get to them through the glass, and he is a senior 14yr old kitty, so they just bounce their tails around and eye each other.  (I am happy about the glass partition, too, because "showdown at Spotty's Place might become a rated R film"

@ GuaposMom   He definitely is a handsome cat, your Peebo.

I love those markings and he has that "stately proud" look.

But you are going to have to become tough, and not give in to the good looks, since if he loses some weight, it will be better  for his joints.  You will have to do it slowly, and probably with a vet's advice, but check out the Nutrition Forum on TCS, I have not read as much yet, but it has alot of info.

Stay on with that conversation though, and tell him how "good looking" he'll be.   lol.  cheers.

ps. I am having the hardest time with my 2yr old black labrador retriever,  he does not care to talk about "diets"....lol.

Today I had a different conversation with Peebo

I said Peebo why are you  not losing any weight

I have had you on a new way of eating for about 2 months

and you  have actually gained a pound!

peebo just yawned and rolled over doing his Pilates

routine on the  rug!

Mine was "Angel, Mommy has a headache, will you come lay down, take a nap & cuddle with me?"  He didn't, but he came & got in his bed in the room.  Oh well, I tried!

Sweet. he may have thought you said "head cold" because so many people have one right now., so smart cat Angel, thought, best be in my own bed for awhile....and keep an eye on mom from a distance.

Angel will come and cuddle, when you won't have the time, make you feel guilty, and then you will have to cave.

They all do that....lol.

hope your headache goes away, I always have to take tylenol, and be off the computer for awhile....I hate that.

Spotty is now asking for some treats....so I better cave-in too, if I want any close time later.  lol

LOL! Yes, he does. He waits to come snuggle w/ me when it's time to get up, making me hit my snooze button even more!  How can I resist! It's the only time he comes & cuddles w/ me. (& purrs away!!)

He's such a big independent boy!  Any other time, its thirty seconds of being held & "Okay, that's enough mom!"

Yea, I think it was a "hormone" headache.
I took an almost 2 hr nap! I guess I needed it. It helped though!

@Angels mommy  Oh, I hate those type of headaches, but yes, the naps do help.  And sometimes if the nap is really good, you feel like you got an extra day....in the span of one day.

You hit the "snooze"....lol.....

Oh dear, I hope just once!

Difficult to explain to someone else, why you were late for somewhere.....

I usually use the old "ahh traffic was really bad.....wow....I couldn't believe it"    LOL

But this happens in my house. AND SHE DOESN'T CARE! We keep telling her that she has to earn her keep, but it's not working. :dk: :lol3:

Great photo!  Funny--I went outside yesterday and found a TON of gopher holes.  Tried to have the same talk with the cats about earning their keep but I don't think they were listening....

After Harley screaming like a mad cat this morning that he hasn't eaten in hours and he is gonna die if I don't bring his food faster, Amelie eating a bug and Sophie turning her nose at the food AGAIN, I told them that I really miss the free-feeding days and that I heard that there are places with more cats and they have only one bowl of kibbles that stays forever full (here everyone has his own bowl and this is the first week when they are not allowed kibbles anymore, only wet food and raw). Well it sorta backfired as:

Harley, with his mouth full, kept meowing and purring and saying that he would be the first to go to a house where he would be free fed and than started shouting "free feed Harley! free feed Harley!"

Amelie reminded me that I cat-napped her from the street when she was young and she would much rather eat mice and birds and bugs that she catches for her self, and because of my cruelty and lack of sense of reality she is indoors only and she has to rely on me for food, and I have bad tastes in cat food.

Sophie looked at me with her big eyes and said "kibbles! kibbles! give me kibbles! no! I hate kibbles! I hate food! I love food! I love you! Look, a bird!" and she left (she has ADD)

I'm on the couch, Morgana snoozing on me cutely. And me being me, I did not want to disturb her.

Me: Morgana, I need to get up...
Morgana: Zzz
Me: It is uppy time *Pets*
Morgana: Zzzzz
Me: I have to go to the other room *Gentle nudge*
Morgana: Zzzzzzz....
Me: Mmmm..k....*Carefully slides down into spider crawl type position, proceeds to move that way to other room on all fours*
Morgana: Zzz
Me: The things I do for you
Morgana: Zzzz ~~~~

And that is one of the things that solidifies me as truly crazy. And crazy looking. Went to the other side of the house like that. And Morgana was not disturbed as I settled into the other seat.

Bretten jumps onto my desk and parks himself directly in front of the monitor AGAIN.

Me: Bretten, you're being a pain. Not a pane, a pain. lf you were being a pane l'd still be able to see the computer, but you're being a pain!

Bretten: Meh, it all sounds the same to me. And l look so cute up here.

He had me there
