"handsome"

So....this boy showed up outside our neighbor's house 2 nights ago. His bag of cat food broke so thats probably why Handsome started coming around. Anyways...Handsome let my neighbor pick him up and he brought him over to our house and my husband FREAKED. I had raised a kitten (if you guys remember kush from 2 weeks old, and we saved 2 cats from a kill shelter but they went to a new home before we moved as we were on a rent to own until our mortgage kicked in and we couldnt bring them. plus two of the cats just were constantly bolting outdoors and this is NOT the area for that. so now theyre all together in the country where they can go out during the day and theyre inside everynight. then after our mortgage kicked in my husband had gone against my wishes and got another cat. we got rid of our 3...i didnt want another one. well i fell in love with him but he was attacking my birds every night, he crawls under the doors, would steal food from my daughter and scratch her and i just couldnt deal with it. so my neighbor took him. he doesnt act like that over there maybe because he has another cat to play with?) so my husband wasn't happy that the neighbor we just gave our cat to brought us over a feral cat. i wasnt either, but after checking him out he had bite marks all over his neck, covered in fleas and scabs. i was heartbroken. so i bathed him down (very unpleasant experience), put frontline on him, and kept him inside considering its snowing and freezing cold out. well he must be really appreciative because he is now up my butt! he wants to sleep with me at night, lay with me during the day and all he wants to do is love me. we have a lot of wild cats around here because all the old people feed the wild cats and there was a litter over the summer. i think hes a byproduct of one. he is soooo long and tall for what im thinking to be 4 months. he was a bit vocal lastnight as i locked him out of my room because he still has some live fleas and the dead ones are falling off in random places. not something i want in my bed haha. he is definitely young and he is calmer than any of the cats ive had. its amazing. im hoping he stays this way! and im hoping to get him in to get neutered before he starts spraying.

How sweet. He's adorable. Vibes that he stays that way. 

How's your husband feeling about him being a permanent resident? 

he sprayed his hoodie last night so he's not too happy. hopefully once he is neutered it will be better

When do you plan to get him to the vet? Certainly no fun having a cat spraying, especially an intact male!

Yep I agree with LaraLove. Sooner the better, you don't want the spraying to develop into a habit. Once a spraying habit is formed it very hard to stop, if ever, even after neutering.
I certainly wouldn't leave it too long - habits can form quickly lol :lol3:

i smelled my husbands coat when he got home. there was no urine on it. i think he is just paranoid haha. but we got a call from the clinic here today and they said we have to pay before we make an appointment so we will be doing that friday.

He's really very beautiful...
