We found 64 , we think she was born around July 4 2013, she has the herpe virus and is on Lysine....she's very active, her coat is shiny, but she does get goop in her eye, she sneezes a lot and now she has a cough that sounds as though she is honking....I heard that could be a hair ball....she also threw up the other night....she has been tested by a vet  and goes for all regular kitty visits.........could she have something much worse than herpes, wouldn't they have found it ?

Sorry...I was just reading your OTHER thread about her "honking" when you posted "hoping for feedback".

Did you ask your Vet about possible Asthma?  Have you looked at any YouTube videos with cats having asthma attacks?  You can compare to see if that's what 64 seems to be doing at least.

Unfortunately, just like with humans, it is definitely possible for doctors to miss something, and since cats cannot talk to us and really tell us how they feel, and are really good at hiding pain, it makes it worse.  But there are definitely signs if a cat isn't feeling well, so you just need to look for them.  Obviously you can see her eye issues and the sneezing
For that, have you seen this thread?  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/267703/stubborn-herpes-infection-add-lactoferrin-in-addition-to-lysine

Now to the coughing...it can be a hairball, it can be asthma, it can be heart disease, it can be they took a drink and it went down the wrong pipe.
In your case it's probably not that if it's pretty consistent.   When she threw up the other night,  what was it like...mostly clear with a little hair, or was it undigested food, or what?  And was it just once or have there been more episodes?  When was the last time you took her to the Vet and have you discussed this coughing with him?

Other than what you have mentioned, how is she?  Is she still running around playing, eating, drinking, pooping and peeing like normal?  Socializing with everyone (not hiding) acting comfortable, etc.?  If so, those are all good signs

Yes she is very active and seems to be very happy.....when she threw up it was food as far as I could tell, we maybe over feeding her, and my husband 'll check out the videso of cats with asthma.....never thought of that...thanks for answering, never had a cat before....#lovehersomuch
