A friend from work kinda has an emergency and needed a place for her dog and cat to stay for a couple days. I told her I could take the dog, but Trevor is way bigger than her cat and would probably beat him up. So the cat went to her boyfriend's aunt and uncle, and the dog is here. Wow. You'd think Trevor never saw a dog before, even though I had SIX BIG DOGS when I got him! He's mostly over it now, although a bit wary.
I don't know Burlington's history with dogs, but I don't think he trusts her AT ALL. This is where he is.
I've never seen him on the counter before. He was lying there when I got up, so I fed the dog and then put him on the floor and he jumped right back up. He's saying "I do not trust that thing!" He was all puffed up and hissing at her last night.
For the dog's part, she's pretty awesome. She's been bullied by a cat before, so she gives these guys plenty of space. She was in the hall last night and I called her, but she wouldn't come because Bur was lying near the doorway. He wasn't doing anything, but she wasn't going to chance walking past him! She's a good dog. She sniffed the cat food bowls, and I said "No. Leave it alone." She's not gone near them since. She's also not even thought about getting in the litter box. I hadn't cleaned it yet when she got here last night, so I know she could smell that it was there, but she's not messed with it. And when I had dogs, they always would get excited and kinda go crazy about going outside in the morning, but she patiently waited. She was excited, but didn't bounce off the walls and run and jump around. I needed to go first (too cold for going outside when you have to pee!), and needed my shoes and coat, then remembered I should grab my keys because sometimes the door locks on its own, and she was very good waiting. I only have her until Monday, and technically I'm really not supposed to have a dog here at all, but my friend was worried about her safety because her roommate is being a jerk, and that is more important than the rules for the moment
