Last night I had to rush Gammie(7months) to the ER because he some how got into my purse and got into some advil. It was in a plasitic baggie. I also had a bag of kitty lean treats in there that I brought home from work. I'm sure thats what he was after. I heard him doing something and went to check and I saw the bag of lean treats ripped apart and them all eaten and then my heart stopped because I saw the bag of advil all torn apart. Wasn't sure if he ate any but there was some that were broken so off to the vet.

They made him vomit gave him fluids and anti nausia meds and did bloodwork. He seems normal today. He did vomit breakfast this morning so I called and they said to bring him back if he keeps vomiting but he hasn't and they said to start off offering him small meals it could just be because his tummy needs time to settle. They don't think he injested much if he did.

I was in tears this has never happend in all my years of owning cats very scary.

The most unexpected things, huh? You did good though, rushing him in so fast.

He will be fine, you would know if not as his organs would not be okay if he ingested alot.

Vomiting his breakfast I would say is due to any remaining vomiting med given last night is all.

VERY scary for sure!! Whew!

That is scary! Good on you for getting him to the vet so quickly. Ibuprofen is awful stuff for cats to get into and is a definite emergency. His stomach may still be queasy from the induced vomiting, but certainly keep an eye on him as you've been doing.

He seems ok right now. He was playing with his toy earlier and ate a small amount of treats with no vomiting. He normally gets a  half can for dinner but I think I will give him 1/4 then wait and give him the other 1/4 to make sure he can keep it down. I can't believe this happened. I'm always so careful. Hes worse than my lab getting into everything.
