Im almost positive my precious girl will have her kittens any day now. She is showing most signs nesting, licking herself ect. she is absolutely huge and the kittens are really sticking out but she is still eating LOADS and usually if labour is close they eat little or nothing at all. Has anybody experienced a pregnant cat that was still eating right up until labour began?
Thankyou very much in advance for your comments :).

Oooh so exciting !!

Yeah one of my girls Maddie ate a whole dish of food less than 30 minutes before she gave birth.

What breed of cat do you have ?

Yes, my sphynx hairless ate right up to birth. I noticed she lost her mucus plug, and kittens were born that night. My queen has approx 64 day gestation period. Avg is 60 days. She gets super friendly with me few days before delivery.

She is recently crying for food roughly every two hours, is this normal or should I be worried?

Thanks everyone!

I wouldn't be worried. Offer food if she wants it. Is this her first litter? She maybe be stressed or scared 1st time. Do you have birthing box ready? If not, google birthing box. It's important for her to a space to have kittens in that she feels safe.

My cat, despite birthing box, had kittens under the covers in bed with me as I didn't confine her.

Nope its her second. I took her to the vets a few weeks ago to be spayed and they called to tell me she was pregnant and only has 2 weeks to go roughly :/. Im worried for her because she is a petite cat and she is my baby, I hate seeing her so uncomfortable :(. I know what to do and what I need. I hope it all goes well, last time I had to help her Alot which is the reason I booked her in to be spayed because I didnt want too see her go through it again. After the kittens are here she will be kept in my bedroom until she can be spayed, I do not want any more accidents. My poor baby girl :(

Could she be crying for alot of food to store energy? I noticed she starting eating more a few weeks ago but since last night and this morning she has nearly gone through a box of 12 pouches!! There's 4 left. Sorry for all the questions I just think 8 pouches is ALOT of food. She is still crying for food now :S

What food are you feeding ? Pregnant cats require more vitamins, calcium and a higher protein diet than a none pregnant cat. Maybe if she's not getting her requirements met, this is making her still feel hungry

I feed my preg Cat whiskers kitten food and nutricat (complete dry food) she has 3 pouches a day and 2 lots of dry stuff. But she was stray so I guess that is lot for her. How much did your cat eat before pregnancy?
Cause cat will eat twice the amount preg x

Good luck!

It's horrible waiting I keep thinking today will be the day, she showing all signs then she takes a nap so I'm like 'maybe not then' she costing you a lot of money! Sounds like she going to have 8! Eating all that. Is she your only cat? Cause I'm wondering if other Cat is finishing hers!? Let me know how many and what colour :-) x

No I have more, but she is kept in my room when she eats and she is the one that finishes first and escapes to finish off the rest of my other cats food! She is massive and is extremely uncomfortable :( My poor girly.
