Im aware of how cats shed their claws, but I haven't seen this before- my 1.5 year old indoor cat seems to have pulled her claw completely out. She's acting completely normal, and I only noticed when she protested to having her nails clipped. What should I do about it? Is it cause for concern?

How unusual.  I would think there is potential for infection or possibly complications, and a visit, or at least a call to your vt seems in order.

I was wondering if wrapping or something might be a good idea because of the litter box. She's acting perfectly normal unless you touch it, though.

I think it would definitely be a good idea to use Yesterdays News, or something similar, until it's healed up. And, if he's allowed outdoors, to keep him inside for that time. I can't remember how long Festus stayed bandaged but it wasn't long before we took it off and it was healed. Maybe a week or so?

I had a cat who lost a claw a few times due to fighting and taking swipes at dogs. Bit of bleeding, and a sore toe for a few days, but fine otherwise.
