About two weeks ago I was adopted by a stay cat in a parking lot. I took her to the vet immediately and had her checked for a microchip. Since the vet could not find one, and she looked starved, I decided to adopt her. I got her vaccinated and made an appointment to have her spayed next week. However, a couple days ago I was petting her and felt her nipples. They felt hard and bigger than I was used to. I am not sure if I didn't notice them before or if they just started to get bigger. After many hours on google, I am worried the cat is pregnant. The vet did not say anything about her being pregnant, but it could be that she wasn't showing signs two weeks ago. Every animal I have had since I was a child has been spayed, so I am completely lost on what to do. I have attached a couple picture of her nipples. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated. Since I have an appointment to have her spayed, I am wondering if I should cancel as a precaution. Thank you in advance for your support.

another question, is if you want to spay anyway. Even if it means abortion too.

Medically speaking, it is entirely feasible. No big trouble for the vet.

Most of our forumites prefers to have the kittens delivered as usual, but spaying here and now, is as said, entirely  possible.

Tx for helping this little sis of ours!

Good luck!

You should take the cat to the vet and then decide what to do next.

I adopted a cat once that turned out to be VERY pregnant. She also was only 8 months old and very small. The vet said when I brought her in to be microchipped that he could spay her right then. As I saw no point in putting more kittens into the world the procedure was done the same day. She had 6 kittens in there and the vet said she might very well never have survived giving birth to so many kittens because she was so small or not be able to take care of them. She is now 13 years old and has never been sick and I just love her to death.

Thank you both. I am still wondering if she is pregnant? Does she look pregnant? I will call my vet today and explain the situation and make an appointment.

My monitor is so so, but it seems there are the classical raspberry-reddish nipples, which color they get at about 3 weeks..

Your plan sounds good, let the vet look at her, make a overall check up too, and decide from there.

Good luck!

If she is under a week, aborting the kittens is a simpe procedure and obviously she will aslo be spayed. If she is a few weeks gone then its more complicated and not advised by the vet! Take her to the vets as soon as you can, it sounds like she is too me!

Let us know how you get on :)
Good Luck!
