Hey guys, I'm new here; I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea on how to tell how big my kitten will get. He was born July 26 and is already about 10.5 lbs. just curious on about how big he's going to get. :)

Hard to say.  One of mine just about doubled his 6 month weight, but not sure if that was normal or not.  Sound like you've got a large cat.

I think it is hard to say, but if he's big already, he's likely to be big!

I knew mine would get quite heavy (although not big, nor fat) simply because it is a Korat breed feature to pack on muscle til they're about 4 yrs. ( I probably didn't quite believe it until I saw how it went though - he's 3.5yrs now, and he put on a kilo in the last 6 months.  He looks like an athlete!)

One thing I do think is an indicator of eventual size would be paws...Kato always had big paws and even as a wee kitten, his chest looked like a little bulldog!  Some people would also say ears - but this could be just a genetic/breed feature, as the oriental influence will create kittens who need to grow into those long pointy ears  (and the siamese influence is fairly widespread in DSH in the US I believe).

Thanks everyone! I think he's probably going to be a big boy if his ears and paws are indicators; they are still a little big for his size :) also he still young so I'm sure he has a bit more growing to do!

My big boy Burt had huge paws when he was little, and he's ended up at 15 - 16 lbs. He was about 9-10 lbs. when he was 6 months old too. Just feed him a lot and see where he ends up!
