Well, you already saw Travie's photo, since you posted in his topic. :)

Looks like a gentleman to me, wearing that tux of his! Has he always been so polite, or is he more of a settled-down-in-his-old-age sort of fellow?

He has always been such a little gentleman. He literally does almost everything in slow motion (even meow) which we attribute to his desire not to disturb or startle anyone.

He reminds me so much of my soul mate cat, Max. I do love these black and white tuxes. Cookie is beautiful:nod:

Cookie says "Thank You!" He is such a polite little guy.

Surely there are more 16 year-olds out there.

We want to their wise, beautiful faces!!!

Hello there, Hot Rod. Thanks for joining the party!
Does Hot Rod still live up to his name? I think he looks just right and what a beautiful black kitty he is. It's hard for the mature cats (and their keepers
) to keep that perfect balance between round and boney.

You could start the Elegant Eighteen thread and Cookie will join you in 16 months.
I've got some elevenses. What would be a good name for that thread?

In Cookie's case, looks are not deceiving. He is such a sweet heart.

Hot Rod is a beauty! His coat still looks so thick and rich. Sounds like he's quite the little host. Welcome to the Sweet Sixteen club, Hot Rod!

Thanks!  He's the most totally fearless cat I've ever known.  No, wait, I had one other one who wasn't afraid of anything. Hot Rod greets visitors as if he owns the place!  He's a hoot!  And he's a talker, he makes little chirping noises to everyone.  Ya just gotta love him!  He'll be a member of the Sweet Sixteen club for awhile - he only turned 16 about 10 days ago!

That cat looks too happy for you to be a bad kitty mom! She's got the fur of a younger cat, too.

Awww, our elder babies.  I've posted pics of Travie elsewhere but here he is again.  We were snuggled up by the fireplace last night while it rained outside. Sweet.  He'll be 18 in June.

You know, I've never owned an elder cat before. The oldest I've ever had is Christy, and she's only seven or eight (her actual age is unknown; she was a rescue). As a kid, I had to live with a mom who didn't really care about cats, and the two cats I had as a child both died early, one to FeLV and the other to a coyote. What you folks have is so precious. It's something I wish I could have had with my cats--a full life, the time to really get to know each other, the time to see a cat grow up and grow old, instead of just being snatched away from you because the person making the decisions in your house doesn't care.

I hope to be back here in about eight years, when Christy is a graceful, petite, and wise little old lady cat.

Cookie is such a handsome boy! No sixteen year old kitties here- just a three month old.
