Morning all.

So tired today.. I think its the cold weather.. hope I am not coming down with anything. I have a feeling I am, since I usually get the strangest dreams the morning I become sick.

My question is.. What's the strange dream you've had recently? Did it mean anything?

This cold is the pits. Last I looked, 13 deaths because of it. I'm thankful to have food and heat.

I've been having strange dreams too. Mine are usually due to stress. I had a dream last night that I had to repeatedly chase down friends who were stealing my cats. They weren't doing it to be mean, because I had to keep saying "____, honey you can't just take my kitties!" Crazy dreams, lol!

I had a very strange dream two nights ago. I dreamt that I was dragging my bicycle with me wherever I went, and people kept telling me it would be better to leave it outside. I don't even have a bike anymore!

I was moving into a new place, and I couldn't find Tiny because my mother had "let him out". And Christy wasn't even there. I couldn't remember where I had left her.

I have dreams like that all the time, repetitive ones where I'm trying to find my way to a safe place and my mom won't let me, or she's making me live with her, and I can't find the cats.

I know exactly what it means--I'm scared to death of losing my independence. I'm precariously independent, just "high-functioning" enough to be denied the help I need, just "low-functioning" enough to need it. I keep messing things up and being on the edge of homelessness, and I only get by because people keep helping me. And I'm scared that my mom will just make me move back in with her. She thinks that disability is a tragedy and that if you're disabled you can't do anything worthwhile, and so she's got to run your life and make you do whatever she wants, and you can't be yourself because you're not really and fully a person.

I'm sorry, that's probably a downer. I keep having those stupid dreams. But then I wake up, and there's a cat patting my face with his paw, and that makes everything better.

I'm not the only autie having dreams like that, by the way. I know of at least one other, and I bet there are more. I think being scared of losing your right to make your own decisions is common among people with disabilities, because it's so easy for people to declare that you need to lose your freedom "for your own good".

Last weekend I had a dream that wasn't really strange per se.  It was like I was in a really awesome book; a clean guy meets girl kind of story.  And I was present in the dream to watch it unfold.  I got woken up before it ended. But it was one of those times you wake up feeling awesome!  The strange part was that there were a few people I know in real life in there.  Some things made no sense outside of the dream too; but in the dream they fit.  I keep wanting to go back into that dream and finish the story!

Maybe my mind is telling me I need to do some reading!

I think dreams are fascinating and insightful.. I know a few groups of people who work with dreams... not the ones where an item has a generic meaning.. more about working out what the subconscious is telling us.

My mum came to visit me the other night.. literally visited - a friend told me that I had a visitor, and there she was.  It's the first time she's come into a dream since she passed away seven years ago.

A few nights ago I had a dream in which I was stressing out about graduating and applying to grad school (something that keeps me up at night and gives me panic attacks during the day), and Alex Guarnaschelli (celebrity chef) was among my school friends stressing out with me. There were other weird things in that dream, but I don't remember what now. I just remember waking up and being like, "WTH?".
