Petfinder - HELP! Photos not working - can anyone see if they can see them?!?!

I'm ready to throw Petfinder out the window - HELP!

Besides my work with ferals, I also try to help out a local cats only shelter - most often by taking photos of their cats/kittens and keeping their website and Petfinder listings current. The shelter is so over capacity and low on help that it was previously months behind on their posts, and their pictures were so sad generally. So since I'm a designer & love cat photography (and although I didn't design their website) thought I could help out. 

Now I'm ready to scream! 

I'd been working on one computer in our house and all looked fine, but just this morning had to switch to my husband's computer - and I can't see half the cats!!! Obviously a HUGE problem! And the problems aren't consistent - so if anyone has suggestions on how to fix/deal with Petfinder -  or can at least take a minute and just look at these cats and see if they see exactly what I describe - or if they see something different.

If you can look specifically at a few - it'd be a big help.

If, after you type in search parameters of "Toledo, OH" (and you do have to type it as exactly that, complete with capital letters for the O and the H) and "100 miles" and "Cat" …you can put in these names, it'd be great. And here's what I'm seeing - so curious if you see the same (b/c it's not what I'm seeing on the laptop!).

And please make sure it says Paws and Whiskers as the place they come from, in case there are more than one):

Noel  (I see her main photo, then main plus 1one more once I click on her)

Chine (I see main, then click on her and I see main plus 1)

Morgan (I see "photo unavailable" symbol)

Max (who shows up as a blank spot on his intro photo, but when I click on it, I see a blank intro spot, but his secondary shot is there).

Gideon (who shows up as a blank spot on his intro photo, and when I click on it, I see a blank main photo and three blank "missing link" type shot spaces)




I didn't take all the photos for Paws (if you click on "Paws and Whiskers" once you're on a Paws cat, you are directed to their secondary page - ick - and then if you click at the bottom on the list of cats you get to all their cats in Petfinder), But obviously I've also got to figure out how to position /crop the photo so that they show up at least almost entirely in the first small intro shot.

I don't have any experience with uploading photos to Petfinder, but I can look.

I can't believe you both already checked these out - thanks SO much already!!! This puts my mind a bit at ease...although I'm still trying to figure out why it's going on here...as surely it's happening elsewhere too?!?! 

Morgan shouldn't have had any photos show up -- and should definitely have that "no photos" symbol - as I just took shots of him yesterday and haven't posted yet. 

But two new bits of oddness that I don't get after reading jcat's post ----

Jcat - the photo of Max isn't even one that should be still linked. Now the two of him are different. Is the main one of MAX you saw a close up showing his two differently-colored eyes?

And..thanks SO much for posting the screen capture of your recently-viewed cats ----but I'm curious (second oddness)  ---I'm assuming that Farrah didn't show up as from Paws and Whiskers? Because we have a "Farria" that's an American Curl. Just a bizarre coincidence hopefully!

And Andrya  - thanks SO much for offering to look for any help on Petfinder. I'm really struggling with it - there doesn't even seem to be a phone number you can call for help when you use the "shelter version" (Petfinder Pro). It's obviously a wonderful resource that helps alot of shelters and alot of cats - but wish I didn't have so many issues!

Any other help/input/etc - keep it coming! 

(and isn't Chine the most gorgeous ever? Such a sad story - and such a terrified cat).

And if you look later - will be posting pictures of two new guys that just arrived at the shetler two weeks ago (11 weeks old) --- totally terrified....so guess what ---we've got them as fosters to socialize! Yeah! Kittens in the house!!!! (and two more to stress that they won't get homes....between them and our ferals not coming to eat with the weather and dealing with our starling problem - if you follow my posts anywhere --- hope I can hold it together

I only looked at the five cats you named - the other three in the "Recently Viewed Pets" must have been left over from the last person who looked at the site.

One last question -- what browser do you use? Maybe because I use a Mac?  

Still racking my brain on this!!!

Are they still not showing up for you? l use Chrome, and all kitty pics look exactly as they did yesterday. I get Max's main pic as the full shot too, and the head-shot as secondary.

Thanks Andrya! I hate to ask again but I'm so desperately trying to help this shelter and am not getting any help from Petfinder itself. 

Can you (or anyone!) look to see if Max's profile again? (I'm using his profile to help me figure this out). It should have a close-up shot (I've added it below) as his first/primary shot, and then there should be two other shots once you get to his full profile (one is full body, the other he's upright and it's a little tighter with his ears back a bit)

I can see all three shots perfectly and I'm using DH's Mac (It also shows up on my PC). 

Hope Petfinder starts cooperating with your shelter kitty pics   

Everything is the same for me on Chrome. Max now has the additional picture, but his main page pic remains the same, the one of him standing.

Glad to know that it's working in some fashion for everyone. Now if I can pin down particulars (like why it seems like Andrya is seeing something slightly different than Miki, and I see something different still) I'm set.

But at least something's showing up for all - better some pictures than nothing!

And a little happy story that makes up for driving myself (and everyone out there) crazy....yesterday a 13-year-old sweetheart of a kitty at the shelter (who'd been returned twice over her life, and had been sitting at the shelter for over 2 years (the shelter had basically given up on getting her adopted)...was adopted to a wonderful home because they loved her pictures I'd taken and fell for her story I'd written. Woohoo! That kind of stuff makes it all worth it, doesn't it?

Just wanted to add that I periodically have trouble with PetFinder also.  When you try and go to the next page by clicking on the "arrow", frequently it crashes on you and won't load.  I find, if I use the arrow at the TOP of the page instead of the bottom one, it seems to work better.

Then need to upgrade their site badly.

You do never know- Petfinder and these other websites don't always stay updated and do have glitches once in a while, and it's great that you're trying to solve them. 

About your happy story- it made my day! Woohoo to the kitty and you for making the great description and taking the great pics.  Hope this will be her most loving home and her last.

The calico cat on pet finder bottom right was from a shelter by me, small world!

In other words FR from perfect!!!!!! Going to do some research for a few weeks & use our group as Guinea pigs if that's ok -hate so ending so much time getting good shots, only not to have them crop right (1cat you can only see his ears & that's it!!!!)....and maybe even figure why some cats pics aren't linking at all (new, close-up of max lying down batting greenygold & blue eyes). We all know photos are the first line if marketing, & if I'm gonna spend 30-40 hours of week pro bono away from my business, I want it to be for a reason-KITTY HOMES!!!!!!!!!

So hop it's ok if I post a question or two over the next week or so to try to straighten all this out. GREATLY appreciate anyone willing to ride along - BEAR HUG!!!!!!!!!!
