Hi,I would be so thankful if anyone would weigh in on a strange malady that has recently shown up on a male Himalayan kitty I rescued 3 years ago.He has had a medium swelling of his bottom lip.The color is real pink. The size not too distended.Matter of fact I didn't really notice anything unusual until I felt his chin underneath.almost crusty, tender with a couple small scabs.and of course the swollen bottom lip.Enclosed is a picture .This isn't rodent ulcer.Theres no break in the skin on the lip

The three
pictures reflect two with the swelling and one normal.Sorry about the gummy eyes, even cleaning them twice a day this is how they get.Always wont sit still for any pics after i clean them trying to get a nice shot lol.so i take em when i can! Thanks for any thoughts or experiences.

My first thought was a rodent ulcer - there doesn't have to be any "break" for it to be that, but the scabs under his chin sound odd. What did the vet say?

The scabs under the chin could indicate feline acne.  But, it's also possible he was bitten/scratched by another cat in the house, and might have an abscess.

Thank you for the helpful replies.I apoligize for the delay in responding,I had a rescue to do and was.about to get them settled when she found a way through the window. In response to feline acne ,the scabs are more like crust but if scraped it bled slightly.Havent been to the vet since 3 or 4 months ago.Ill be scheduling that soon But will have to time it when he has it.:Acoustic Guitar::paw:

If you are using plastic water and food bowls, I would change them IMMEDIATELY to stainless steel, glass or ceramic, and clean them daily.
