This could be posted in behavior topic but I decided health because my 8-1/2week old kitten has and still bites my wires. I have it a long black string that looks identical to my wires but that doesn't work so well. The only thing i can think of is to put something around the cords, but what? Help please!

Of course cover it! Your kitten is so very young and will bite anything and everything - natural behaviour. He/she will probably try out a lot of things, so you need to make the house safe from dangers, just like you would a crawling toddler. You could also keep removing kitty when you catch him in the act, and say a firm 'no' and start teaching. Good luck!

You can buy protective wire/cord covers. It's like a plastic cover that fits around your wires and cords. They are pretty cheap and there are loads of them on the Internet. Try googling it.

You can also use paper towel tubes.  Just cut a slit and then place over cord.  You can tape them closed or just leave them.

For smaller cords such as earbuds and phone charges, you can use a plastic straw.  Just slit and place over cords.  Additionally, your kitty could be teething, so provide lots of chew toys such as straws and other soft, crinkly toys.  When you find your kitty chewing on your cord, redirect to a more appropriate toy, such as a chew toy or something like that.  You have to teach them the appropriate places/things to chew on.  Don't yell or anything like that (my husband just had his phone cord chewed by one of our 3 yr old cats because hubby left it out on the counter...tsk tsk!), just have an appropriate toy available to show them the appropriate thing to chew on.
