Good morning and TGIF!

Today is my birthday! Yay me! We don't do anything really special for birthdays, but we celebrate a little. Rick gave me a cute birthday card and even the cats gave me a birthday card.

What do you do for your birthday? Anything special?

I took a day off work today as there are some things I'd like to do around the house. Rick is leaving work at noon and we're going to spend the afternoon together. He is taking me out to lunch today, too...I love going out for lunch (sometimes more so than going out to dinner).

Rick's birthday is right after our wedding anniversary, so I always tell him that he got me for his birthday.
Either the weekend before or the weekend after, I make him breakfast in bed; he loves having his breakfast in bed, so I try to spoil him a bit. And I'll take him out to dinner or I'll make him something special for his birthday dinner, whichever he chooses.

Happy Birthday, Pam! :party3: Enjoy your day off.

Aaron's birthday is the day before mine and we normally go away on vacation. :)

We don't tend to do anything for our birthdays anymore. Our birthdays are a little over a month apart and our daughters birthday is in between ours. I'd rather celebrate her birthday than mine.
I'm getting too close to 30.
(I know I am young still, but I think most people feel like that about 30, 40, 50 etc)

Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your day!

I usually just go for dinner with the family and cake afterwards. Nothing fancy. Sometimes my parents would hit up a nicer more expensive restaurant and combine mine and my sister's birthdays together.

Happy birthday Pam! Eat some yummy cake!

We don't usually do much for birthdays, although I usually find one or two nice things to buy and tell DH that it's my birthday present. I'm trying to get up to go out more for these occasions as we don't get out much.

Happy Birthday!!!!

You almost share a birthday with my mom - hers was yesterday

As for my birthday, it tends to vary, but usually go out for a dinner, and recieve well wishes from friends and family from all over. Also been taken to a show a couple times, like dance, a play or a concert. Altogether though, fairly simple and not overly extravegant.

Ah, such a constrast between the birthdays of childhood and adulthood

Happy Birthday!!! Since I'm getting close to that 60 mark I don't celebrate a lot, our kids are 39 & 41! (I remember being that age!) We usually go out to eat at a fancier restaurant and one of our moms usually makes a cake. I would really like to know when I got so old!

Happy happy birthday Pam!

I always take the day off from work if it falls out on a weekday.  I'll be damned if I'm going to spend my day getting aggravated!

Usually, we'll go out for a nice dinner; my BF gets me roses (he knows I love them, I grow them), and potentially a gift of some sort from him also.

Not a big deal - just enough to make the day a little special.

DH's birthday is really close to mine; so we generally go out on a date sometime around them.  Usually we try to make it a little nicer and go for seafood or something like that that's generally a bit pricier than your average restaurant.  Last year I went shopping for some new clothes for my birthday.  It was really nice.  I went by myself so I could try things on. My wardrobe really needed the refreshing!

Happy birthday to you Pam!  Today is one of the busiest birthday days of the year!  It's my Grandmother's birthday, my Father-in-law's birthday, my old youth pastor's wife's birthday (I was close with them as a teen; he married DH and I), an old co-worker's birthday, a college friend's...  You get the point!  It was even my due-date with my DD!  I'm kind of glad she wasn't born on this day!
It was cool that it's my Gram's birthday; but she came on my Grandpa's.  If Gram was in her right mind I know she'd give him heck for it every year!

(I tried to make you a flower bouquet!)

It depends on if it's a work day or not. I usually go to dinner with  couple of friends, or my mom & sister.

Last year my sister & I had a sister night, movie & dinner.

I will also try to get a massage trade in before hand, so I can collect mine for my birthday!

Aw, thanks guys! And thanks so much for the flower bouquet, Kelly!

It was a nice birthday. Rick did take me out to lunch and I chose Red Robin for lunch as I was really in the mood for a burger. He gave me a purse that I've had my eye on now for a good month or so. They finally went on sale and I bought it yesterday, along with a new wallet. My old wallet was in terrible shape, but since my son had given it to me years ago, I didn't want to get rid of it. I love Stone Mountain handbags, so this was right up my alley for a gift.

(I have off work for Presidents' Day in February....another one of those "fictitious" holidays, according to dear Richard. He thinks some of the holidays are made up, just so government employees can have more time off work. But I digress....sorry. Anyway, I'd like to take that day for shopping by myself. Or with one of my GFs; we had talked about that, too. Getting together for a day of shopping, followed by dinner. But we'll see. We plan stuff, but then things happen.)

Today, we're supposed to be going out with friends to a couple of antique shops. I'm looking for a sugar container and something to put up above the kitchen cabinets. And then we're all going out for a birthday dinner. My birthday was yesterday and my GF's husband's birthday is in February, so we're celebrating both. That is, if the weather doesn't get too bad; our local weatherweenies are calling for 2-4 inches of snow today.

Happy Birthday, a little late!

We celebrate birthdays with dinner and cake, usually a gift or two, and once in a while we have a party. Life goes by so fast it is good to have birthdays to make us pause and appreciate where we are and those we love. I always think of my loved ones who have passed on, on their birthdays, I even sing them Happy Birthday.
I'd rather focus on the day they arrived instead of the day they left.

Happy Birthday, Pam!!!!

I personally hate my birthday, but DH makes a fuss over his.  We pretty much buy each other a gift and go out to a nice restaurant for dinner on the weekend closest to the day. (As DH's work hours are so crazy, weeknights and many holidays are out; hence weekends.)  I always ask for an expensive piece of "real" jewelry, as I collect jewelry, and love wearing it. Also, it has more sentimental value years down the line. Macy's conveniently has their semi-annual fine jewelry sale around my birthday!
Seriously, this gets me through an AWFUL day. If I didn't have the jewelry to look forward to, I'd have to curl up in a fetal position in bed, clutching a bottle of Jack Daniels--and I don't drink! Did I mention that I HATE my birthday????

Hope you had a wonderful birthday Pam. (and thanks for remembering mine!). We celebrated mine on the cruise; Paul had the waiters deliver a cake and sing happy birthday. I just hate that as I get very embarrassed. But he meant well.

Went to the Chinese buffet for lunch yesterday but I think we're getting tired of it. Neither of us really enjoyed it as much as in the past.
