Bleh. I think the winter blues has finally caught up with me. I've been feeling so tired and bored.

What do you guys to chase away the winter blues?

I think of summer with it's nasty 100 degree heat and all the work I have to do in it, makes winter nicer every time! I think of it as my 'down' time,  to enjoy a good book, play with my cats, and watch my favorite shows on TV.

I love to curl up under a blanket with a good book!  Sometimes I get myself involved with a craft project. The problem with those is I hate being interrupted.  I want to do it all in one shot; spend hours at it.  That just doesn't happen these days.

Sit and cry  Honestly I get so darn depressed during this time of the year. I actually get to the point where I just want to sit down and cry. I hate being so cold all the time and I hate having to drive in this crap. Rick is even to the point where he's tired of it all, too.

The best way for me to deal with it is just to get outside. I always feel so much better after I've been outside for awhile.

But when the weather is too nasty to go out, I'll grab a book. Or a DVD series. Right now, we're watching the 7th season of Dexter.

I love the dark and the cold, but I grew up in super-hot and bright so it feels nice to me. But my husband gets the winter blues, for sure! He travels a lot so sometimes he tries to arrange to go warm / hot climates (near the equator is good) in the winter. When he isn't traveling, he sits under full-spectrum lights at home, that helps him a lot. Hope it's better soon for you.

Hot drinks - I love coffee (Regular coffee, latte, cappucino and all that) and tea.

I also like cozying up in my pjs, housecoat, and tea in the evening, with the fireplace, kitties and a good program.

Reading a good book also helps. And of course, a lot of favourite shows are in season, and winter sports. Ballet (Rehearsals, classes, performances etc) is also in season, whether it is me doing it or watching it. I really miss it during the off time! usually work with crosstraining in the meantime.

It also is nice not having mosquitoes and misc. other bugs
spring and summer are definitely great, but the worst bits are always dealing with deer flies and whatnots. So fustrating!

Last but not least, I love snuggling in bed in a cool room, all pleasantly cozy underneath the covers with a cat. I can never sleep comfortably when it is really hot.

Altogether, winter offers plenty of challenges and hair-pulling moments, but it helps being reminded of all the little positives here and there.

I totally agree with you, I also do not like the heat and humidity of the summer.  I can deal with the cold.  I also read a lot but I do that all year round
